I have always kept up on the forums never speaking, just a watcher. Me and two friends started this ESO journey from the first day of beta, we have seen it all, from softcaps, to unstoppable emperor dk vampires, broken bash epidemic, to vampires running at mount speed in stealth. What made us finally give up a year or two ago was the premades in bgs. You just could not survive the focus fire and ultimate dumps no matter the build. Cyro was out of control when they started the cp system so we decided to stay away from the unstoppable unkillable tornados out there and do duo pvp. It was not fun. Now? Almost every match is ended with teams within ten to 20 points. It’s a toss up til the end who’s going to win cause the games are so close! Everyone is living a little longer and I’m actually seeing a little variety in build if not much. I don’t have 4 ultimates dropped on me at the same time and pretty much anyone can be killed. I am winning prolly 60% more of my games. It’s been great fun and we don’t mind solo que it’s a blast the few times we actually fought each other on different teams. Ty Zos for keeping our pvp spirit alive with these changes, I hope they are here to stay.

Agreed the solo queue for solo play is brilliant..

But there is zero reason not to add a group queue for group players.
Add a league too for registered teams, awards and even private battlegrounds to train guild mates in.

Right now its not great for support classes either. Healers, tanks etc. It's a DD fest or you get grouped with 3 healers and have no chance lol.

    Give choice, everyone happy.

I think it should not be added because it would split the player base. I mean that is why they did not add it also.

Right now it also splits the playerbase -- instead of splitting it into two groups who use different queues, it splits it into people who play BGs and those who don't.

That isn`t true though. They have issues with the code, filling all the spots in a BG match consistently. They have canceled entire events before because of group finder/BG queue issues. They simply can`t fix the system at this time.

BGs have been through so many changes, including removing CP.

I mean sure, but people who had to deal with the premades for so long, it ruined pvp for them. Now they can't do premade or even group with others. The shoe is on the other foot.

I think it fits well. Now the other party got to put up with something that is not fun to them.

Also this might get more pve players to try pvp. It is always fun to see this.

And now BGs are ruined for people who only ran BGs to have fun with friends. It's just shifted the suffering from some people to others. It's not a fair solution, and it's cruel of you to be so spiteful about it and enjoy the fact that others had something taken from them. If your reasoning against options to fit everyone's playstyles is "well now it's good for me and I'm glad it sucks for others", it's not worth much.

It may get some PVE players into BGs, but at the cost at kicking a lot of us out of BGs.

I've stated this earlier in a thread about the topic, but I respect the decision to cater a feature to its most dedicated player base. It's efficient and I would be happy if it happened to endgame PVE content, where it would benefit me. That said, it still sucks for me that BGs are now far less accessible for the casual way I played them, and I would be happy if we can one day again see it implemented that I can just pick up some friends for some late night chatting while getting our asses kicked. They were good times. As I said, I respect that BGs are not more focused on people who will 'git gud' at them. But sometimes it's nice to play without that pressure. :) In the end, BGs were a very nice option for some casual, social PVP with friends among my PVE friends. No premades, just two people grouping up together so we wouldn't feel lonely and get to comment and talk about what was happening, screech at each other for help without typing. It was a social thing for us, and that part is definitely gone now.

I'm ok with friends not being able to play with each other for awhile in bg. I mean you asking solo players for the longest to group up and be part of the zerg. So now it is your turn to have the bg system not work in your favor.

Groups can play in cyrodiil together. I think solo BGs is a healthy thing. I hope it stays this way. If needed they could add group queue later.

Of course you're okay with friends not being able to play with each other for a while in BG...... cause it doesn't affect you and you lack the insight to say "maybe other people should have nice things too". ZERG also has nothing to do with BGs, and solo players still have to join a 4man group now in BGs. TBH it's very far-fetched to say that the BG system was ever in our favor -- in our favor would have been proper MMR that doesn't put two bad players grouped together against a coordinated 4-man group of skilled players. :D

Either way, I do appreciate how honest you are about the whole "The only reason I don't think there should be options for players is because I can only enjoy being given something nice if someone else then suffers like I did" revenge attitude though. It's good that you establish that the actions you support are reflective of you actively NOT wanting things to be fair towards different players. Makes you look terrible.

In before "Maybe single player games are for you, this is a MMO" and "I thought this was about team play" gets thrown around...neither complaint makes any sense.
Last time I checked, you're still playing with 11 other actual people and you're still on a team of 4. Saying those examples above makes you look kind of foolish.
The only thing taken away is your ability to choose your teammates.

That being said, BG's should've been separated into premade/random queues from the start. That choice should've been available from day 1. Taking away choice is never a good thing in any game.

I am enjoying BG's alot more since this change.
Had a lot more meaningful match ups and close matches.

I am not saying it was the right way to go for everyone, but personally I play a BG for a solo experience.
I have a guild mates and friends I enjoy the other PVP content with and have always played BG's when I want to play alone.

This is just my opinion from my own preferences and experience. I appreciate some people are upset about this change and hope they find a way to make everyone happy.

Groups can't play BGs in Cyro. It's not the same thing. BGs are fast-paced and don't require much organising/setup so they were ideal for casuals. And nobody is arguing against the solo queue -- just saying that it's a weighted and not ideal solution.

There's still a difference though. Sometimes randoms are nice, but the multiplayer aspect is also about social gaming, which always added another layer to BGs. People want to run BGs with friends or guildies -- especially those who are casual about it and feel safer with someone tagging along to lighten the mood. IMO you can't just reduce the multiplayer aspect of a game to strangers, that's not the intention. BGs are also much more fun with voice chat for sure, so that's definitely something then missing on PC (although VC with strangers obviously often goes bad, so not sure how ideal that would really be :# ). Much more fun to be able to communicate freely without typing, just comment freely whereas in chat it's not worth slowing down to type stuff as much. Stuff like that.

Edit: Also, obviously all of this is speaking completely from the way I personally ran BGs. I got nuked and had some completely unenjoyable matches cause of premades myself (to the point where we just waited out the match at spawn because there was zero enjoyment to be had). But in the end, I also can't blame premades for existing... Perfecting your craft is part of the fun of the game. Coming up with a group composition, working on your coordination, so much work and excitement goes into that and that amount of preparation is part of the fun of MMOs. The situation sucked and needed to be changed, but the format of BGs is super inviting for premade play and it would also be a shame to see that branch completely wiped out just because they can't get their own queue.

If they had 2 ques, one for solo, one for premade, do you think premade would have enough players to fill the que? I'm just asking. I feel that solo will always have enough players. But I think premade would get stale real quick. I could be completely wrong. It's just my feeling. But I do support two ques.

Groups can play in cyrodiil together. I think solo BGs is a healthy thing. I hope it stays this way. If needed they could add group queue later.

Groups can't play BGs in Cyro. It's not the same thing. BGs are fast-paced and don't require much organising/setup so they were ideal for casuals. And nobody is arguing against the solo queue -- just saying that it's a weighted and not ideal solution.

You did read the second half of what I wrote, I hope...

Sure, but I didn't have anything to say about it. So I commented on the part I had something to say about. Not so not sure if explicitly spelling this out in my post would've been a better option. :p Also not sure why you brought this up, given that my post was a direct response to a point you made and not related to the rest of it?

Meh. I've always queued as solo player but taking away a social aspect from a group activity it's silly.

Yeh, instead of splitting BG players in two groups, they split the groups, brilliant. Or do they split the players into those who dont play with friends and those who stay away from BGs with their friends? >:)
