What would be the best race for a werewolf stanplar?

mhrv24

Finally have set my mind on a stamplar I love the play style and it's going to be a werewolf to, don't know why but being a werewolf as a stamplar just fits it much better then being a vamp imo, and the 15% passive Stam Regen is nice to have...

But I would like to know the best race to use for this (dps/PvE/PvP) character and would it be viable?

Thanks in advance

btw the 15% passive regen is only granted if you have the ww transformation ult slotted, in other words, you have to give up an actual good ult inorder to gain that +15% stam regen.

This sounds disgusting, unpractical, and I hate it.

That being said do an orc or nord.

Thanks I'm aware of the ult needed to be slotted :)

Templar and necromancers are the only classes that get absolutely nothing out of their passives in werewolf form, Even necromancer gets extra HP, so templar is the worst possible werewolf.

    Make a stamsorc instead

Sorc does have the best passives for werewolf.

But Templar by no means gets absolutely nothing out of their passives in werewolf form.

    +6% Weapon Damage
    +2640 Spell Resistance
-4% Stamina, Magicka and Ultimate cost
+20% increased resurrection speed. Resurrected allies revive with 100% more health.

And an Imperial gets another 3% knocked off all ability costs (on top of extra stam and health). Not OP, or even BiS, but those are decent bonuses to synergize with a templar WW.

But where you’d put all that 1% extra gold when WWs don’t have pockets is the $64,000 question...

Redguard and Bosmer also work as Stam Races, just to point it out. Along with Orcs they each have different things they can offer, so your best bet is to look at all the Passives and decide which Race gives you the most bang for what you're looking for. You can ask which x is best for y, but in a game like this the meta isn't always what works best for everyone. You often see people trying to copy builds from people like Alcast, but they can't make it work like he does and it frustrates them. That's because you really do have to find your own play style sometimes, which means experimenting with different things, even if it's not considered 'good' by other people.

I have a Redguard Stamsorc running Velidreth, Blood Moon, and Tzogvin's. Before u24 that largely nerfed WWs, she was doing 30k. Not amazing DPS and definitely not meta, or even likely what most people would consider optimal, but 30k is enough to do the content I do (which isn't much for me these days). Sadly after the WW nerfs in u24 she's become a lot less fun to play and I lost a decent chunk of DPS, so now I'm using my magDK as my main content person.

In the end, you really can only decide if something is viable for yourself, regardless of what other people might say. Plenty of people make really niche builds that work surprisingly well for them, but probably wouldn't for others, because of differing play styles. If you enjoy the character you're playing and you're comfortable with how you can clear content with them, really that's all that matters.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts

Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean

    Probably Orc.

But keep in mind one thing:
Werewolf is not in the same spot when it used to be / (should be) back in Wolfhunter DLC. Last year Elsweyr update and Dragonhold dlc kinda wrecked WW, with basically no good reason. So imho even if you pick best class / race combo for a werewolf (which curently is stam sorc orc) - you should not expect much. Forget about PvP, solo or group (unless you enjoy getting wrecked all of the time). RP, soloing easier base game world bosses and easier base game dungeons, like FG 1 is probably best you can hope to do.

Of course, we can all hope that since next update ZOS is going to overhaul vampires (imho well deserved) they will adress some WW issues too. If they wont touch WW, and leave them without a single buff, it will be simply weird & silly...

    tldr:
It does not matter much what race you will chose, as current WW sucks anyway and making dedicated ww build is kinda pointless, as even if you min-max for WW, you will be still way, way behind non min-maxing, non optimized non WW build (basically in all type of content, in all roles).

    the best race is orc.

you should also go stamsorc if you want to make any use of class passives. don't go templar, not worth it. :#

also ww got neutered so if you want to dps or pvp, choose something else.
for rp it is still fun yet weak :(
