How do ppl feel about Stone Giant?

Just curious about how others feel about the new Stone Giant. Personally, I find that it feels really clunky, and it - like many other abilities at the moment - sometimes decides to go off and sometimes decides not to go off when you activate it. A lot of other abilities are doing that right now, or they suffer from a severe delay to their animation, so I can only hope it'll get fixed when they figure out what is messing up everything else.

I do kinda feel like the ability itself doesn't really know what it is, its both a melee aoe and a ranged std. I feel like that throws off trying to reliably do a rotation, and would prefer it made up its mind about what it wants to be. ;)

    Maybe if they made it 20% faster or something it can be viable but its never going to be as good as Dswing atm.

    The heal morph is pretty good atm tho.

    I was happy with it last patch. It was decent std, procced some passives, was a buff to group dps - if only a teeny amount - and range was meh, but at least it was reliable. Knew exaclty what to do with it, but now I need to pay attention to weird orbs floating around me to know if my next attack is going to be a melee aoe or a ranged std.

    Honestly, I think it's kinda cool.

    I used it all the time a few patches ago when it turned you into a statue and had great range. Once they nerfed the range to basically be a melee weapon, I had a lot less use for it - it was my tank's only projectile.

    Now, with the quake and then the lava balls, I'm liking it again...not as much as way back, but definitely better than the last one. Would like an AOE or damage shield or something while the orbs are up though.

    It's trash and it will always be trash.
    -minimum travel time
    -stun that does you no good because it'll stun people you don't want to stun that moment
    -cast time
    -dizzying swing is still superior in any way

    I miss it's old magicka version. Was a nice stun I could weave into my rotation and stacked resistances alongside volatile armor.

    We still need a Stam whip morph for DK.

    Meh. I prefered when stun was not a silly stacking mechanic and range was decent.

    It's probably the best looking ability in game now.

    But the stam DK "visual storytelling" is all over the place now. We have poison clouds, fire AoE ultimates, and floating molten rocks, while our original fiery weapons theme (Molten Armaments) has been rendered useless.

    That skill doesn't know what it is. It's been completely redesigned so many times that I just can't find it in me to be interested in changes to it; It's a chuckle when reading the patch notes. It's worse when its current iteration is this confused mess.
    I don't really even want to play with it at this point, because if I do like something they do with it (which, unlikely this time), then I will simply be disappointed in a few months when they completely redesign the skill again and take away whatever I liked. May as well save myself the trouble and forget it exists unless it happens to sweep into a meta you can't ignore.

    Stagger is a great unique feature, but I don’t understand why they had to implement the stomp/3 rocks thing. It’s just unnecessary and the actions themselves feel very awkward. They could have applied stagger to the previous skill design, and it would have been better. Not that it felt great as a spammable before, but still...

    As for stagger itself, it should scale with the users stamina/weapon damage (to a cap, I suppose). Similar to engulfing. That way, if they can change the design to something more usable, there will be a reason to stam DK vs. tanks trying apply stagger,

    I have no feelings about it since I haven't experienced it. I won't use it, though, given my character isn't stamina and would need to make a new one who would utilize it.
