Falling Through Floors/World

Hi All,
So i've played the game since Beta on PC EU and back then i had a few instances of my Character falling though the floor/world. Since the game came out of beta I can't recall an instance of this happening since (or at least far enough ago that my poor overworked braincells don't remember it) so all good.
Then about 4ish weeks ago it randomly started to happen again (2-3 times in one of the Summerset delves Tor-Hame-Khard pre-24/02/2020 and once in Murkmire overland post-24/02/2020).

Soooo, is this just something that's started happening to me or are other players having this same issue?

I just had that experience for the first time. The game through me back so far in my exploration I lost a skyshards and I had been pretty much steps from the next. Not thrilled with the game at the moment, I also keep flying though the landscape after mounting.
I sat quietly with my own thoughts today
Remind me to never do that again

Glad you brought this up. I have had the same occurrence. During beta it was a common and frequent thing. Haven't seen it in years though until just that timeframe that you mentioned. It actually brought back some fond memories. LOL

It happened to me a number of times in beta and shortly after release. I remember getting stuck inside the mountain just outside Shornhelm and before that, I went into some alternate desert-like wasteland "inside of" the game, looking out at the actual playable game. It was cool because I was with someone else who was chatting with me. Only other times I can remember was when I was in the Eastmarch public dungeon and fell through a small set of stairs and watched the draugr attack me, and in Wayrest Sewers, I think it's Uulgarg the Hungry who keeps fearing you and often forcing you through the playable area. The Wayrest one continues to happen to me on a regular basis.

It also happens to Death's Leviathan in Crypt of Hearts who keeps charging at you and very often will charge right through the playable area, leaving him stuck. Sometimes you can keep hitting him but sometimes he's can't be hit and you have to reload. This one happens to me a lot too.
I don't comment here often but when I do, I get [snip]

I got stuck in the ceiling once in a Dwemer ruin in Alik'r. I was in such a rush, but my Crit Rush was too much.

I also fell through the ground in Cyrodiil after using Nature's Embrace on someone who could mount while I was still in combat, so I guess I truly Embraced Nature there.

And finally, I got stuck in a box in IC and I couldn't be hit by anything or anyone. What the box?! :p

I've had that happen too lately. Mostly when I summon a mount, I get this weird "fly over" camera of the terrain that ends when it reaches my character. Then the mount appears. Almost looks as if you see through the eyes of the summoned mount as it flies across the landscape till it finally reached you.
~There’s a positive in every negative. Sometimes the positive is harder to find than other times, but there is ALWAYS one there~

    That actually sounds pretty awesome.

I experienced the mount flight sequence pretty often since I started playing ESO in 2015. Not on a daily base but, let's say, well, about once a week.

I fell through the floor on several occasions starting with Elsweyr. Sometimes a boss feared me through a rock and I fell into the void beneath it, sometimes a dragon sat on me and its immense weight pressed me through the ground and into Nirn's core. Has not happened to me before Elsweyr, unless you counted Daggerfall and Battlespire...

...always gives me a "TES-II:Daggerfall" flashback!!!
because that sort of thing happened a LOT in dungeons in that game... (back then, you had to have a "Levitation" spell ready so you didn't die from the fall when it happened, and a "mark" to "recall" to placed at the dungeon entrace to get back...)

But yeah, falling through the ground happened to me -once- in all my time playing eso since summer '14.
Running through walls... that happened two or three times.
I reckon it goes when a bit of lag hits ad -just- the right moment to mess up collision calculations... as such, I expect its one of those things one just has to grin and bear when playing computer games.

In the end, you cannot change it happening, so you can only change how you react to it. Might be best to see the funny side of it, have a laugh at the whole thing, then have your character pick themselves up, teleport to a near wayshrine if neccessary, and keep on gaming!

Yeah, it's not causing me to rage or anything and yes sometimes it is indeed funny suddenly finding yourself outside the boundaries of space and time (almost) :D
I was just checking to see if it was back as a wider issue amongst the playerbase like back in Beta or just an issue my particular setup/badluck was causing?
Also the overland Murkmire occurance i was definately mounted so that could be a thing maybe?
Glad to bring back some memories of strange goings on for some of you as well :D

Or you had to have all debugging keys active. There was one that placed you back on the last tile before the one you fell through.
In Battlespire you didn't fall through the ground as much, but the glyphs you needed to progress had a tendency to fall through the floor, forcing you to restart the level.
Actually I always assumed the Dwemer vanished due to falling through one of the many holes in the floor of a Daggerfall dungeon.

As good a theory as any!

Maybe what they dwemer -actually- did with the Heart of Lorkan was make their whole race "no clipping, floors included" and literally fell off the face of Nirn! :p;)

I've fallen out of the world a few times.

Once was sometime last year in Glenumbra, in the town on the eastern coast where the duke is a werewolf. In one building there's a stairway leading down as if to a basement, but when I went down there was no floor, so I fell out of the world.

Once last year in the Bank of Daggerfall the trap door in the back corner by the barrels and crates was gone, and I fell through.

I think that in both of those cases, I fell into nothingness and eventually got a loading screen, then I reappeared-- but I don't remember if it was at the closest wayshrine.

Twice this year I've fallen out of the world behind the guard in the Bank of Daggerfall. In both cases, I fell into a patch of water below Daggerfall and could see the buildings and people far above me. The water didn't extend everywhere, but was more like a set of rectangular areas stuck together to form a shape.

The first time it happened, I think I ported back to my house. The second time it happened I decided to swim over to the edge of the water. I swam over the edge and fell into nothingness, then got a loading screen and reappeared-- I think it was at the Daggerfall Wayshrine.
