Why do ESO players get so salty in PVP?

Honestly I still don't understand PvP in this game and why its so bad but this is one of the many players in ESO that Zenimax refuses to take action. Atleast in Siege and Overwatch, toxic players like these get permabanned or atleast a suspension. This is a PvE game, and I just wanted my exp, lmao.

You need to censor the name or you'll get in trouble for it.

PVP makes people angry. It hurts their pride, and hate whispers are common enough a concept for people to feel comfortable playing into the stereotype.

That said, while obviously the whisper is completely unreasonable, you don't get to play the 'it's a PvE game' card when engaging in PvP content. That's silly. I'm assuming this was random BG based on the exp comment, and you do have to at least be willing to give it your best shot if you go for group PVP play to get some exp! Only fair towards other players. If this was a guy you fought, then it is just the hurt ego. :p

so...you are aware this might get u banned from the forums cuz sharing someone name/ign is against tos/eula and falls under naming and shaming...so my advice...delete this asap...or the screenshot you posted : 3

on topic: cuz people dont know how to play and think they are the best of best and their world breaks when you show them the actual reality :D

Uhh, you might want to blur the names on that before zos takes this post down.

There are toxic people in every game, and whether or not they get caught, permabanned, suspended will not change the fact they are always going to be there. PVP especially brings out people's competitive nature and just as anything competitive, there is always going to be people talking smack to boost their morale and lower their competitors and its been going on almost as long as language itself.

You can't ever get rid of trolls, just learn to laugh with them or at them at the cost of their expense is my advice.

I wouldn't get this mad over a PvE focused game to be honest. Every content Zenimax has released is all PvE content, nothing to be competitive about.

What helps me (after i fail trying to ignore whispers like these) is trying to imagine them NOT being a reasonable person, having a *** day or them just being very young. The mistake i made at first was always thinking the other person had a good reason for saying it and that because i didn't know the person, i assumed that they would have the same age and be a bit mature (subconscient thinking).

Spend enough time on youtube and after a while you realise that some of the comments have an avatar like this:
    https://styles.redditmedia.com/t5_nngwo/styles/communityIcon_t9sm8zwrd7631.png
That helps sometimes. Easier to move on.

Actually... scrap that. I once did ask what the other person's age was after he was being beyond immature (petty question i know). Turns out the dude was 52 years old. It got really depressing.

you know what; just ignore them, don't analize them. It gets bad otherwise... as you can see :|

Blacking out the name should be fine. All tickets get a bot reply. You need to respond to that email. If you don't, the ticket gets closed and no one will look at it.

Anyway, people will always blame others in BGs. Once you manage to stand above that it just gets amusing, but you can't force yourself to get to that point. But you can't change other people's behavior, only your own -- so whether it's fair or not, the only thing you can do (outside of blocking and reporting ofc) is try to deal with it as best as you can for yourself and let the haters be haters.

There's people like this in PvE too, even if it's not as much as PvP.

Unfortunately sometimes you'll find this kind of people.

Maybe today and next days you'll find more salty players, because of the solo queue - no premade = more nervous players (from the past groups).
Also with this patch a lot of people come to play with in mind the idea of winning , but they were just bad. The result is even more nervous players.

I am not justifying, I'm only trying to explain

And guys, just my thought: is a Pve/Pvp game, not only Pve, keep that in mind. Pve has its rewards, so has Pvp.
I see Pve just as a means to an end or as a nice variation from Pvp/sotymode/housing.

Mostly because they haven’t competed in anything serious. It’s a mindset, to lose with dignity and it takes practice.

    I’m guessing..

This is not an ESO phenomenon. Play any pvp game, salt is everywhere and every bit as bad, if not worse.

Tell anyone that is mean like that to stop being mean , or alternatively, tell them that you love them. It works for me! You'd be surprised at how many people are unloved and take it out on others.

    Now go, spread the love!

No! It's not. It's main focus was for PvP.
That's why the combat is like this...

For a PvE game, it's horribly done. Imao

@Skysenzz what's the point in trash talking?

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Is it to make somebody feel less by pointing out how you rekt them in a video game? Or is it to make you feel better about winning in a video game? Or both at the same time?

    Generally curious about the response

I was once in a BG with a Youtuber. Would love to name them, but you know...against the rules and all.

This guy dies once because he tried to go solo.
He then spent the rest of the match telling us we were all trash, and we all need to learn to grow thumbs. He stood on the platform refusing to participate, telling us he was going to upload this match to youtube and expose us all as *** players.

How sweet it was when we were able to pull out a close win without him. Never saw a person leave a BG so fast.

Just know some people have a *** personality, OP, and go on with your day.

For nearly 20 years pvp in pretty much every game in existence has been like this. You have an entire generation being raised with zero foundation of how to respect other people.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I float between laughing my hindquarters off and being salty AF, and that's simply because they have neglected PvP so much that it is incredibly frustrating to play at times now a days, and with the update yesterday it's gotten even worse. Op classes got more op , Stam got even more op over mag, connection still awful, the list goes on.

People come into this game truly giving it their best shot. The majority of people truly do want to learn and we all know it takes time to "get good", but while they try their best and fail (we've all been there) you get some small-brained troll picking on them.

Everyone has their first, second, third time in BG's, PvP, Vet Trials. Not everyone is an instant success! Not everyone is as lucky as you --- they could be disabled! I might only have 2 fingers left on my right hand and work so hard so I can keep up with you all -- seriously how do you know? Support all players because the majority of players are truly trying their best and might not have awesome skills (yet) or as much ability as you. IF they upset you just let it go -- move on, and wait for a better player to assist you.

The only real way to fix this is to shut off the zone chat, set yourself to offline (so nobody can whisper you) and join a group that is in comms, and in comms, it is still not 100% safe there either, but you can block a bully there too.
PC NA DC 4eva! I try my very best. If it is not good enough for you too bad! Playing off and on since April 2014 CP2009.

Never had any salty PVP whispers, probably because I'm not that good at it and don't upset enough people lol

Would take any salty whispers as a sign you're doing something right though, or perhaps have a cheese build that is annoying. One of the two.
