Monsters dropping without leaving loot

When I logged on last night after the big update, I walked around, killing some mobs to see whether or not playing feels any different. One thing I noticed right away was, that a lot of mobs would just die and despawn without leaving loot. This happened with appr. 50% of the overland trash mobs. I'm not complaining, but did they change that? Is that a performance feature? I could not find anything in the patch notes. Anyone else noticed this?

And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too

I think that is normal, isn't it?

Has always been like that, for me.

    Not all mobs drop loot.

Actually, yes. I noticed it. I found I had to look for the 'bigger' monsters (not bosses, just tougher overland than standard )to get loot and boxes.

    Yes, I noticed the same.

Yesterday after the patch I went to Murkmire to get the tickets and the strongbox. Like on every other day during this event I ported to black rose wayshrine and killed the troll under the nearby bridge. On all other days except one the troll did drop the tickets and the box, only on one day he didn't, but the crocodiles next to him did immediately after.

Yesterday, I killed the troll 3 times without him dropping tickets or box. I ran around murkmire killing every mob for about 10 minutes, no tickets. I also realized that the normal mobs dropped less than before the patch.

Long story short, I killed the wb and got my tickets and the box.

I know this is in no way representative, but I also thought ZOS seemed to have changed something in the drop behaviour.

Even the lowliest mudcrab used to drop SOMETHING; usually a scrap of some sort. Now, just going by the murkmire trash, corpses don't always have loot.

It's probably just a huge coincidence that the time they tweak tickets to POSSIBLY drop from enemies, happens to coincide with adds not dropping loot at all. Gotta boost the zone activity somehow, I guess...

Seriously, if you guys have always gotten loot from every mob, you have been extremely lucky. My average is about 50%, with less dropping from lesser critters like mudcrabs and hoarvors.

I've noticed this too, actually. It definitely feels like even 'bigger' mobs like crocodiles and the like are dropping loot less often, thought it was just me. So far I've only been in Murkmire killing things, so maybe it's just something in this zone? It sucks either way, considering the current event.

I've literally always gotten loot from everything I killed. Even back when the zones were set to certain levels, and I was still a baby, years ago; I farmed mudcrabs because they were they only thing that dropped the specific leather scraps I needed. XD

    Then you've been lucky.

Before the patch, when I was going for my tickets & box in Murkmire, maybe half the regular mobs had actual loot. (crocodiles, mosquitos, hoarvoars). And that didn't stand out to me as anything new or different.
