Any difference in performance?

I write this post because i haven't found any big improvements in game performance.
Above all, my fps is terrible, it is not at all stable, in the sense never.
This is strange because i have an i7 processor (one of the first that came out ok) and as a video card a geforce GTX 1660 with 6 GB + 16 GB of ram.
Do any of you have similar fps problems and have they solved somehow?

This update shouldn't exactly have done anything about fps, but since it's patch day and everyone wants to play the new dungeons and didn't get to their daily routine for half the day, it's extra busy and crowded now, meaning frame rate drops. That's just the way the game is.

What has improved though, at least on my end, is the length of loading screens. They are much faster now and switching from one character to another is now a matter of seconds rather than minutes.

I understand what you mean but this loss of fps is not normal, in this change that has occurred they could bring some improvements to this aspect so important in a game.
Then actually 3-4 weeks ago it wasn't so bad, then they changed something and the fps completely lost its stability.

Give it a day. If fps are still bad tomorrow or after the event ends, something is up. The only change that affects fps is the change to blocking and that will probably only be a factor in Cyrodiil during a great battle, but even then it's still gonna be far from perfect since there are a lot of issues unrelated to blocking remaining.

The difference I noticed is that I crash several times an hour after the update. That's new; I would consider that a difference in performance.

I've had fps jumping up and down wildly while staring at a wall of ice in Bleakrock with no players nearby. There's nothing around that should be causing any performance issues much less graphics rendering issues. I run the game on Ultra and get smooth rates pretty much all the time even during Alik'r dolmens.
Prior to today's download it comes and goes, no idea what's going on. Will see if it gets worse with the re-download.

A lot of people are downloading the game right now. I expect once the majority of players are redownloaded performance might go up some. But not sure on that. The game is downloaded from their servers I think. So it could be boggling it all down.

From the patch notes: Optimized specific processes that could cause spikes in resource usage and cause FPS drops.

You need a new cpu, i7 doesn't mean much when it's that old. I recently went from an i7 920 (1st gen) to a Ryzen 5 3600 and the difference is night and day.

My gpu is a GTX 1050Ti, quite a bit slower than yours and the update has made my fps more stable (80-90 with only shadows turned down).

This patch is meant to be more of a console performance patch. You people with your fancy graphics cards and 16gb or ram shouldnt see any much difference so your fine.

I got it downloaded and noticed straight away it was lightning fast. I realised my addons weren't installed after 10 minutes but hadn't really missed most of them so only re-enabled one and it was still a lot faster. I might re-enable others as I miss them but I think it will still be faster than previously. Many thanks.

I noticed shorten loadingscreen too, and everything is loading faster as intented.

When i am not crashing from cyrodiil, performances are decent.

Your computer is better than mine but I have like 85-100fps in cyrodiil with 100-120ms ping when many ppl with all in ultra or high.

Maybe check how to optimize your windows, it worked fine for me.

I haven’t experienced any difference at all. Nothing better or worse.

The only thing that is worse is I’m crashing multiple times an hour whereas before I could go weeks without crashing. However I’m not sure if it’s fair to include today in my assessment of wether there have been improvements.

I’ll reserve final judgment for now, but I’ve seen zero performance improvements with this update so far. I still have long loading screens (started a couple of months ago) and now my usually fairly stable ping has been jumping around quite a bit today. So far no large issues for me, but certainly no great performance improvements noticed.

I do not have the silhouettes everywhere like I used to. In murkmire it ran okay for me despite there being so many people. And when I look at an NPC to talk it loads their texture a little faster than I remember before. But I have not played in a long while so maybe I am not remembering well.
