what's going on? today I tried to launch the game, just to play for a while and get the event tickets and got stuck with an insane 52GB update.
I'm on a metered connection, I can't even use more than 15GB per month, and I was planing to find an access on a city only in a couple of months. I wasn't expecting nothing like this before May. So... why this? the game was running well yesterday, i don't believe that i have corrupted files. this is crazy!!!
is there any way to bypass this absurd update?

This . . . this is a joke right? Just a troll?
How big will the console update be?
What does advanced warning have to do with it? If this is legit, you usually can't just save up gigs of download in anticipation.

i don't think that they should alert anything. i've been able to do all updates since the release, and in the last years i've been using a metered connection. the problem this time was only the size not the lack of alert, just that. i wasn't aware of this... in fact i still don't know what's happening. i'm going to search for the update info and try to find a place to download it.

@NeKryXe Everyone was forced to redownload the game. We've known that for several months now and there have been plenty of warnings in the launcher, on the website, on twitter, during ESO live, on the forums and there even has been talk about it ingame among players. There is even a free red torchbug pet in the crown store to make up for the inconvenience.
Of course someone is going to miss all of that headsup. Always.

Like everything.
I heard absolutely NOTHING about this patch. Granted, I am not obsessed with the game and constantly visiting forums, but you'd still think it would have been mentioned in game that I need to re-download the whole game.
Not totally stoked about this.

if you really are stuck to 15 GB a month you might want to see if a freind can download it for you and then put it on a thumb drive and give it to you, that's how I have to do it. no one seems to think (or care) about those on metered connections, its a bunch of BS
