Controller Mode Resolution Is Way Off
Maintenance for the week of April 7:

My resolution in keyboard/mouse mode is 1440. Looks great. When I switch to controller mode, which i normally use, the resolution changes to something that looks like 640. Icons are huge and text is huge. This was not the case before the patch. Help! Controller mode is unusable.

✭✭✭✭✭This change is completely intentional. ZOS has turned off UI scaling for console UI since it was causing "a myriad of issues".1 -
REALLY? I have played for 4 years. Bought crowns regularly. Bought every chapter. But I prefer to play with a control. I am just way better with the controller over the keyboard/mouse. If this remains, I will likely no long be playing. Holy cow it looks awful ZOS.2

when switching back and forth between the 2 modes, all the add-ons move too. Wow...janky0

ffoggerSoul ShrivenI'm having the same issue in gamepad mode, before the patch the sclaing on my 4K monitor was great in gamepad mode but now the scaling is huge. Everything else seems to be working fine, just the scaling of the interface is horrible and i don't seem to be able to adjust it anymore.1

Gina: Hey all, just wanted to confirm this is not a bug, but something we deliberately changed due to it causing a myriad of other UI-related issues.
I am fine with not having custom scaling with gamepad mode. I did not use scaling on gamepad mode before. Back then gamepad mode and keyboard mode looked similar. Now it does not and it should be something WAY higher res than what we got. On 1440 or 4k it looks ridiculous.1 -

TheForseti✭✭✭This is a recording of me swapping back and forth between gamepad mode and default UI. I use gamepad for all combat in the game, and I use mouse/keyboard for everything else I do. Having my controller UI and default UI completely off scale from one another is unplayable. Please revert this change.

Jesiah5Soul ShrivenI was not expecting such a massive change. I have been using gamepad for my entire time in ESO and I feel like a got sucker punched with low-res/massive UI while using 1440p. With everything so big....much of the beautiful scenery is getting covered. There must be another way to improve performance other than to shortchange gamepad users entirely. I am a content creator and I had just spent months planning to stream this game, now with this change......I'm not sure if I want to stream anymore if I am being forced to show my viewers a low quality UI, it's just embarrasing

MagicPie✭✭✭I used addon to move stuff around but yeah it is so HUGE it is ridiculous and almost unplayable....

Yes thank you. I’m going to try it. Does making it smaller help with the quality/resolution of the text and graphics? That’s part of the issue too that keyboard mouse ui looks way better than gamepad mode now. Not just smaller. Also does it help with the scaling changes with the addons where they move around on the screen when you switch back and forth from keyboard to gamepad?Edited by HllCntryHrrcane on February 25, 2020 4:04PM0

I subscribe every single word you wrote.
I can confirm that I am another one, that after 6 years of very $upportive gameplay on PC and PS4, is ready to leave the game if this ABSURD and TOTALLY GAME BREAKING mess will stand as it is.
On my 4k TV now all that shows up is this humonguos UI taking up all the screen and making the game totally impossible to be played.
