Fishing

Zos could learn something from warframe on fishing mechanics
I like how dynamic and engaging it is also make worth while compare to what we have
For anyone that doesn't know
Here is how it works
●you get spears of different types for different fishes and you have to aim at fishes
●additionally you can buy items that apply visual affects to fish similar to resource nodes making it easier to see
●also their is bait as usual
but the most fun fact is that their isn't limit to amount of fish spawn per
Here's a small video

What do you guys think of this?

Agreed - I've been here since beta, but the fishing aspect of the game is simply - point - click - retrieve and it is VERY tedious...
The reward for this gruelling farm fest is a 'smallish boat'.

I love using Warframe as a good example of fun fishing, but even then after a while it can get sort of boring. Be nice if ESO had interesting fishing mechanics like a little event to pull the fish in and different kinds of fishing like nets and spears.

It would be nice if Eso made point and click mechanics more interesting in general ^^
We are talking about a solo RPG franchise which should 'be different' from classic MMO's.

FFXIV has both rod and spear fishing with different mechanics for each to make sure you pay attention. I'm more a fan of spearfishing but mostly becuase the wait in between getting the fish is shorter.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

No. Coming basically directly from another game to ESO, a game which had "interesting fishing mechanics", just no. I like the "point, click, retrieve". I find it relaxing. I'm not opposed to mini games as such, but I've yet to see them successfully implemented in an MMO. Never tried Warframe so they might have done it though, but personally I'm the "hell no" train for it in this game.
