So far it's just those two, the main reason being they are greedy as hell and wanted a bigger piece of the pie. CDPR is certainly onboard with Nvidia, and that's huge.

It’s not unreasonable for content creators (movie makers, music makers, game developers) to want the lions share of any distributed material rather than handing that over to the distributor/platform. You can see exactly the same conflict over rights for Spotify, Apple Music etc and it’s clearly a driving force behind both Netflix and Amazon’s desire to produce their own programming rather than pay others to do that for them.
If I were running a game development studio I would be looking to safeguard my IP and revenue too, while if I ran one of many game streaming services I’d be wanting to drive down payments to content creators as that might damage my subscriber base. Clearly GeForce and some studios disagree on the value of the game content.

I still can't tell if it's Nvidia or Bethesda that's being referred to as the greedy ones here so I'll just assume it's both.

I disagree with that comment. Geforce now is a service that Nvidia runs with their servers. All it does is takes games you ALREADY OWN and users their servers to allow customers of Bethesda to play their game on many devices which in itself makes more money for them.
sorry, but it is greed. There is nothing to protect. The games are already owned and with so many games having service content added on top, it already benefits them.
Thing of how stupid this is.
hey, we have a service that will allow your customers to play on more devices which will keep them engaged and woudl most likely produce more money for you.
no thanks, we dont want that. We want to restrict our customers so they cant log on wherever they are and we wish to lose that potential income that comes from that.
they are being dumb and greedy.

there is no greed with nvidia. they charge a fee which is for the use of their servers. All they do is give you access to games you already own on other devices.
most likely what is happening is these companies are pulling out all close together because they have colluded and trying to leverage Nvidia to give them a cut of the profits that Nvidia does all the work for.

I have been playing this game via GeForce now since October 2018. I purchased 3 Nvidia Shields for each member of my household this past winter. I already had an Nvidia Shield myself prior to buying 3 more. The game streams my games that I already own on Steam. It wasn't like I was getting to play for free, this game has gobbled up tons of my money. I no longer have a way to play so I will have to cancel my subscription. Sucks that I pre-ordered the new chapter and won't be able to play. I never had issues with my gamepad. All of my buttons worked, I could rez people...never felt like I was lacking in controller options. It was perfect! Now it's been ruined! I have paid for a service I can no longer use (eso plus) and purchased every chapter, dlc, and dungeon. I'm sure someone will say, "go buy a computer!" Unfortunately, I don't have the money to go out and purchashe a gaming PC. Beyond irritated with this company...you are going to loose soooo many customers. Just read the GeForce Now forums. What a selfish move. Maybe you're not aware, but you are doing nothing more than attacking paying customers. I hope this issue is resolved asap. I have many friends on here, some that are sick and dying...let them know that we (Nvidia Shield users) didn't abandoned them, we were screwed over and can't play.

It's possible, but I think it's far more likely they want a streaming war similar to Netflix/Amazon/HBO, where Bethesda get to sell streaming rights to their games to the highest bidder on an annual basis. Similar to the way shows like Friends and Scrubs bounce around between streaming services for insanely high prices right now. It's easy money, no effort on Bethesda's part, and we'd be looking at a future where companies like Google, Nvidia, and Amazon bid for game streaming rights from Bethesda and Activision etc.It would not surprise me if Bethesda was looking to make their own streaming game platform down the road a bit.

All the buttons did not work. If the had worked iwouldnt have returned mine to Amazon and accused Nvidia of falsely advertising their streaming service allows full function of games in their service. I ended up having to build a system from scratch and struggled to afford it because Nvidia wouldn't work fully with eso. If it had worked I would have kept my shield tv. People need to stop lying about it's functionality. Their shield overlay occupied two of the long press buttons and that meant you couldn't use those functions that were necessary for playing the game.
