Murkmire Celebration Event Tickets drop with chance?

Hi all,

"During the event, the zone’s monsters and boss monsters each have a chance to drop Event Tickets."

Does this mean that it can drop and can not drop?

Yes. The drop itself is RNG, but the chance is “high” for mobs and “higher” for bosses of any sort (delve included). Keep killing until
you get them, per ZOS. Players are reporting that world bosses are overcrowded, so if you find that to be the case, try other mobs. Be careful of grouping, though, because if you miss looting even one mob that someone in your group has killed, that might have been your tickets for the day.

    They gotta be kidding...
Even for ZOS it's the new step in meaningless greediness.

Seems like even the trash mob chance is pretty generous, at least for me and the people talking about it in my guilds.

    The fact itself is outreageous.

First drop is very fast, couple packs to kill.

But more than one box, hah.

I just went around killing random enemies until the tickets dropped. I wasn't counting, but I know it took somewhere between 10 and 30 kills and the tickets finally dropped from one of those clusters of bugs.

Importantly all 3 tickets dropped together. The announcement gave me the impression they dropped 1 at a time in this event, so I was expecting to have to get 3 seperate drops. Fortunately I had enough space to hold all the tickets, but it's something I hadn't planned for.

It took me less than 10 minutes of killing trash mobs while farming mats to get my tickets from a hoarver on EU PC.

It look less than 5 minutes of the same to get my tickets plus a strongbox from a bear-lizard on NA PC.

I'd say the outrage and uproar about tying the tickets to RNG is vastly overblown. But then, this is ZOS and ESO we're talking about, so vastly overblown outrage and uproar from the playerbase is pretty much par for the course. ;)

I got the box & tickets on my fourth random zone mob. Oh, no - you have to actually kill more than one thing for the tickets! Horrors!

    It is and it isn't.

True, if you are paying attention it's not hard to get your event tickets. In some ways, it's more convenient to have event tickets drop from any creature in the zone. No need to go to some specific, often overcrowded place to get them. There's something nice about that, for sure. I liked that aspect of it.

However, the fact still stands that having event tickets earned in this way increases the number of players who are going to miss getting their event tickets for any number of reasons. It's not a customer-friendly design. It is especially customer-unfriendly because events have been monetized and it is very, very likely the event was designed this way to push cash shop sales.

If coercing customers into paying to win event rewards (among other predatory forms of monetization) wasn't a worsening problem for this publisher and developer, it'd be easier to argue that the concern is overblown. I'd argue it isn't talked about nearly enough, because the industry is still abusing its customers trust with this stuff. It will get worse from here in this game, if the trend continues as it has.

For me, I ended up getting my event tickets for completing my second daily event on PS4. Over on Xbox, they dropped after I killed a lizard bear on my way to the first daily.

So for me, it was similarly easy, however it doesn't detract from the fact that tying the tickets themselves to RNG is downright wrong. Motifs? Pet parts? Furnishings? Yeah, sure, make them as random as you like but a player shouldn't be punished simply because they have a run of bad luck, and especially not when it opens the doors to P2W accusations...

I’ve done two full rounds of daily quests and killed lots of stuff with auto loot turned on. I still haven’t gotten my tickets or the gold box. Could it just be taking a really long time or is it still possible I’ve managed to miss a drop somewhere?
