Gravestake and Voriplasm fragments??

I think its a bit sly that ZOS has made the Gravestake memento and the Voriplasm pet fragments not tradeable. Some people sell/trade these pieces to people that actually want them, but now they are found under collections in the fragments list. I do not see a way to retrieve them to trade or sell them. You also will not get duplicates this way to be able to make additional memento or pet runeboxes to sell. The only way to get this now it appears is to farm it (only 1 of each)..which the drop rate seems horrible or buy it with event tickets.

And then what happens after you buy a frag, but then get a duplicate from a drop?

I completely agree. While it's cool that the fragments won't take up inventory space, as a GM of a trading guild I simply cannot accept that ZOS is taking away this important part of the event income for trading guilds. Please stop doing things that hurt trading guilds.

Yeah, blows when you get memento fragments and pretty much all of your mementos are single use to see what it is and then forgotten, or never used at all.

Even selling for junk gold would be better.

I was hoping to skip this event and just buy the fragments or rune-box for the pet from guild traders. Not paying irl cash for tickets, so I might just let this one slide. I expect we'll see a super-shiny edition of the pet in the crown-store in the near future anyway.

Yeah, but a lot of people don't trade or sell them and they end up taking up 25% of the space in a Guild Bank or sitting on a mule alt. Besides, selling runeboxes only makes you real money for the first couple of days. After that, people get tired of seeing doubles especially if they don't sell and they are just taking up inventory space. I also think it's fair to consider why people should be able to buy event specific runeboxes meant to reward players for participation at the end of a seasonal event without having to participate at all. It seems like a way to increase engagement to me, especially if the items are desirable.

If they want to monetize it, fine.
But since it's so different from the previous event, if they want to go in this direction from now on, just come right out and say it. Don't try to trick us into grinding.

that reasoning would be sound IF. IF... people who are participating in the event, weren't punished by it through atrocious rng.

I didn't realize they weren't tradable until today either. To be fair, there are upsides and downsides to this system.

On the upshot, having the fragments be collectibles makes it very easy to keep track of your progress if you are playing on multiple characters. It also, presumably, makes it impossible to get duplicates. If you cannot get duplicates, this could hypothetically mean it is easier to finish the collectibles depending on how the back-end calculations work.

On the downside, having fragments be collectibles means it is impossible to trade them with other players, either as fragments or as completed runeboxes. Depending on how the back-end calculations work for getting fragments, it may actually be more difficult to complete the collection and effectively forces players to pay to win their event rewards in the cash shop.

Given the monetization changes we've witnessed over the past year and a half or so, I have little doubt the primary reason for this change was to increase revenue generated from events. I knew there were shady things about how this event was designed, but I didn't realize there was also this aspect to it until today. The ever-increasing monetization of events - things that used to just be fun "thank you" celebrations - is really just turning me off to caring about them anymore.

What I don’t get is why they’re selling pieces for the grave stake memento when you get it for completing the quest “The Cursed Skull?”

Although the momento you mentioned along with the event momento have similar names the actual actions are very different. I wondered the same as you but then checked on youtube where someone posted the momentos actions.

I been doing the dailies, well daily. I don't even have half the items i need for the pet. Really frustrated in this RNG system. Add to the fact that i have had to restart almost every delve quest due to the pickup items not spawning and WB only giving the 12 highest DPS the drops. Honestly this is just badly designed. It's been more frustrating for me then rewarding.

I have all the items the event vendor sells, and 12 event tickets banked. What do I do now? .....I can get more rune boxes, but I won't get any more event tickets or memento/pet fragments that I can vendor.

....so the event just ends for me today I guess? Pretty sure there are six days left in the event.

It was cool that it was so easy to get the fragments either through the gold event boxes or with the abundant event ticket drops with this event, but what now? It took less than 10 min/day to get everything this event offered, and there are still six days left in the event.

I've been trying to PvP, but that's not working out so well these days either.
