@ZOS_GinaBruno so... we now know that

1. fragments from strongboxes are NOT a guaranteed drop.
2. if they do drop - they are immediately added to collections rather then being tradable.

this means there is a decent chance that anyone wanting to collect pet/memento - would have to buy fragments with tickets, HOWEVER. we can only keep 12 tickets at a time.

so the questions I have:

1. is there possibility of duplicate fragment drops, or if when they do drop, it will always be something we don't yet have? this is important to know in order to plan how to spend the tickets and not waste them.
2. if duplicate items DO drop - will they then be made tradable? or are they just lost?
3. bonus question - what ARE the droprate chances on bonus strongboxes? becasue right now they seem to be a LOT lower then during killing dragons - save the cats celebration.

thank you

bumping it up, because I would still like to know if there is at least a mechanism in place to ensure that the only fragments dropping from boxes - are fragments we do not have yet.

I was thinking of hopping on for this event and try for the slime pet, but 35 event tickets for 1 pet. I'll pass. Good luck to everyone joining in the boss hunts.

Two things that would actually make this event great:
    (1) You can only get drops of fragments you don't already have
    (2) The event is guaranteed to be repeated so you can earn more fragments another time, even if it's a one year wait

So if you were impatient, you can buy your way to the collectible right now.
Or if you're patient, you can join everyone else making the event relevant each year.

It's not in the interest of the house to tell you the odds.

Perpetuating a veil of uncertainty helps to confuse the customer, and confusion makes some of them more likely to engage in irrational decision-making. Further, if the drop rates are intentionally low this serves to frustrate the customer, which also makes some of them more likely to engage in irrational decision-making. More likely than not, this is all manipulative marketing for paying to win event rewards. I'll hold out final judgement until this event is concluded, but this may be the most blatant attempt to monetize events in ESO thus far.

I understand businesses need to make a profit. I also respect the need to market and promote one's business and products to make said profit. Our old events used to do that, basically - they were fun celebrations of content that both marketed it and introduced special rewards that could only be earned by actually playing the event, plus an occasional cash shop exclusive that you bought directly with crowns. What we have here now is... something else entirely. If you need to coerce customers in order to make your profits, there's something tremendously wrong with your business ethic. This game is too good to be puckied upon with such rot.
