[Murkmire Event] Strongbox grinding - what's the drop rate like?

Anyone killing mobs or gathering nodes like mad? What's the drop rate like for getting additional strongboxes?

Too low. I looted somewhere around 100 mobs / bosses / chests / nodes in total so far and not a single strongbox / fragment

I've got over 100 empty soul gems. When I've filled them all I'm gonna hard stop. Not gonna let ZOS trick me into grinding for some yellow jelly that follows me around.

Spent 2 hours and not one strongbox apart from the first wb kill.

I killed the WB and I instantly got a strongbox and 3 tickets. Dont know if I was lucky or not.

1 Strongbox is guaranteed per day. The rest are rng. The event lasts for 13 days and we have game re-download in the middle so for most it will be 1 day less - so 12 days.
But even though, we have 2 mementos to collect. Each requires 7 fragments so 14 fragments in total.
14 Fragments and 12 days of event. Also it is worth noting that Strongbox may not drop a fragment or it may drop fragment you already have.

Fragments are also not tradable.

I got my first strongbox along with my tickets on the 3rd mob I killed. I killed another hundred or so as well as looting 30+ nodes and doing a few dailies and nothing else. No collectible in the box either so it appears that you have 13 guaranteed boxes if you do it every day and each box only has a chance at a collectible piece. You need 14 total pieces if you want both collectibles. The fragments are essentially bind on pickup so it looks to be VERY unlikely that someone can piece together the 2 collectibles themselves.

However, ZOS has been kind enough to let you spend 5 tickets on each fragment you are missing so feel free to beat the RNG that way I guess.

If anyone has received any extra strongboxes other than the first semi guaranteed one, let me know. I'm wondering about the drop rate on extra boxes to see if there is any potential in farming them.

Is the other collectable new? I thought we had a grave stake memento before?

I'd like to know if pet/memento fragments are RNG in those additional boxes. If the chance is low, there's pretty much no point farming them if the additional Strongbox is hard to get, AND the fragment inside is also hard to get.

My first box had a pet fragment. Then running through a delve I just got a second box with a grave-stake fragment.

So it is possible to get multiple fragments a day, but how rare they are is difficult to say at this point.

they are rng in ALL boxes. not just your bonus ones. you are NOT guaranteed to get a fragment even in your first box of the day.

what I'm saying is that its also very possible and even probably to get NO event fragments in the same day, even from multiple boxes

With the fragments being non-tradeable, this is looking very frustrating. I love Murkmire - probably my favorite piece of content in the entire game - but... seriously?

$#^%& monetization designers for potentially ruining this event.

And while not hard, Murkmire has the most obnoxious mobs in the game, so I doubt I’ll be killing any more than what’s required for the tickets/first box and the Root Whisper daily.

Hopefully I don’t get any more fragment-less boxes 😐

I spent over an hour on the EU server doing dailies and killing everything that moved. No strongbox or tickets.
That's the event finished for me. I really can't be bothered with these sub grade events any more.

I don't recommend parking on the world bosses. The small zones like this make them something of a nightmare during events because they are way too crowded. Wander around, do some fishing, gather some nodes, try to enjoy along the way. It's not worth sandpapering your face off over it.

Mob no. something between 6 and 10 gave me the 'safe' box, but after that killing plenty of creatures while doing the three dailies didn't provide a second box. So the drop chance seems to be very low and trying to hunt the two collectibles is absolutely pointless and frustrating.

Low.. After the first one of the day I got another after an hour of farming/killing everything I encountered.
as for fragments they are not in every box. Between my accounts on pc and ps4 I looted 3 boxes and only got 1 fragment.

The drop rate is obnoxious. ZOS really shouldn't be using a zone event just to lure people in to buying tickets in the crown store.

I did 1 wb no ticket(had 30+ players there 😆 😆) walking out the area there was 1 lonely add killed him and got drop logged out after 😆 😆 😆

1 strongbox though, out of all the delving and boss killing

I spent another 3 hours killing mobs and harvesting nodes and no extra boxes yet. I can't see a reason to try for a chance at a box with a chance at a fragment... which is probably by design as it is basically impossible to complete the 2 collectibles without a trip to the crown store. They could have at least made the fragment chance 100% if you do get a box. This random chance at a random chance is quite annoying when you know they have a cash shop alternative.

So what happens if RNG decides to give you a fragment you already have registered to collections? With only a chance for a fragment each day, and not being able to trade for what you need, if a duplicate is essentially a wasted box then I'm not sure how anybody is supposed to manage getting what they want without massive good luck on top of somehow trying to strategize purchases for tickets. (I mean at some point we're going to have to start spending tickets on fragments to avoid wasting tickets, which is fine, but it'd be a slap in the face to buy a fragment and then get the same fragment the next day and get absolutely no use out of it. This is where being able to save up all earned tickets until the end of the event would be real nice.)

I guess I'll prioritize getting the pet with tickets and just see how my RNG goes for the rest of the event, which probably means kissing off the memento. So far I'm 0/1 on fragments in boxes, and it definitely doesn't seem to be worth the time trying to farm more boxes.

Not to mention all the low levels in zone trying to kill WBs, that cant even do enough damage to get loot or credit for them.

According to other people in my guilds I have been really lucky. I got 3 extra Murkmire Strongboxes in 2.5 hours of killing things. 2 of those boxes had Fragments in them and the 3rd was just junk.

I feel that because the Fragments aren't guaranteed the extra boxes need a higher drop rate!

4 hours in murkmire, thought not farming all the time and did BRP two times. Two boxes (first one guaranteed), one fragment.

Usually I collect everything during an event. Usually that is possible with normal gameplay. Previous event was bad design, where you had to choose between playing PvP (thus participating in the event) or farm low RNG pages. For a PvP main that sucks. This event promises to be even worse.

Let's hope ZOS realises drop rates are too low and the event is not about a grindfest/forcing people to buy clown tickets.
