What about a health cap in pvp?

Tanks are florid and really annoying in pvp and last night fighting a group of EP i've seen 11 people with more than 50k health. A group pretty unkillable...
I know that a lot of people don't like to die in pvp and they choose safe builds but play against a tank is not funny, imagine 11.... maybe the only solution to vanquish this "tank meta" is to put a health cap to 25/30k

Still wouldn't solve the issue. Most good "tank" players in pvp don't even run health that high.

I doubt ZOS would add a cap for HP but implementing diminishing returns in all HP above 25k would be a welcomed change. Another issue is that certain skills scales of your max HP, which shouldn´t be a thing.

softcap to health stat along with protective resists/buffs
there 99% of players would stop stacking defense so high and invest more into damage or pleyers still willing to stack defense so high....wont be able to stack damage so high with it and so they would be real tank to tank, with not damage to others, just tank

The most logical solution would be reducing their damage potentials to dust, or increase damage potentials of stamina/magicka characters. If they can't do damage, then the whole stuff becomes a draw situation.

If stamina/magicka builds become much stronger in damage however. That would affect PVE content as well. So it would demand to adjust it by increasing resistances, or/and health of PVE stuff.

Build your ulti off of them then leave. Or you could just use seige against them. Asking for a nerf because you do not like someone's play style is ridiculous.

I would just leave the group or the person alone if they are not fun to play against. Not like a player with 50k health is going to kill you, anyway.

Would probably have the unfortunate side effects of a) not solving the ‘problem’ you think there is and b) killing tanking in PvE, where high health (of 40 - 50k) is essential in some trials and dungeons.

PvP Tank builds, like real tanks, are very powerful, but they also have to have sacrificed something to be that tanky. Your challenge in PvP is to figure out what sacrifice they’ve made and exploit that, not whine about how unfair it is.

If you’re good at PvP you don’t need 50k health, because you can heal/shield yourself to full health or move out of attacks really quickly. So ultimately your issue of ‘not being able to beat the other guys’ isn’t really about their max health.

Similarly, if you’re outnumbered 15 to 1, the likelihood is you’re going to die, no matter how tanky/not tanky your enemies are.

Ignore them. Wanting to nerf someone's build because you don't like it is silly. There will always be builds that get PVPers to complain about. Are we going to nerf everything you guys don't like?

asking for nerf or not...sieges just tickle them along with ults if they are aware enough

Never had an issue with that. Maybe try different siege?

Diminishing returns for HP could be implemented with battlespirit (since battle spirit already adjusts HP anyway)

Why do I have a feeling that If ZOS would somehow add a soft cap / dimish return of stacking health / defence, people will go more into dmg and we will have similar threads but more like: "Everything kills me in 5 seconds, add cap / soft cap / diminish return on stacking dmg..." ? :joy::D

ok, imagine that... a zerg of 20 people (11 pure tanks and at least 4 pure healers) sieging a castle, ulti and sieges hit them like wet noodles because of resistances, multiple healing, buffs and debuffs. They open the doors and stack to the flags 'till the keep change color. They have zero dmg, they don't need to fight, they simply move as a tank group and get all the map.
    If you find this funny....

I love how there is a constant complaint about tanks in pvp and requests to nerf this or that. As in, let this player put all his effort into defense and not offense, then take that defense away so that I can still kill him and he still wont' have offense. Just remember caps go both ways, why cap someone's health if you aren't going to cap resource or damage stats?

The only thing that's true about the tanking issue is that you shouldn't be able to be super tanky and still do a bunch of damage. They've worked on this some, but there is more to be done. Maybe have a new five piece armor bonus for heavy that gives something good to them (since they took away one of their passives long ago and never gave it back) but have a penalty on that five piece as well, like gives the person wearing five piece minor maim all the time or something. This way it shows that HA is about defense, not offense. The only 'cap' is more of a diminishing return I could see being used with the extra health added to your character when you enter PvP, have that go down a bit the more raw health you have. So a glass cannon guy coming in would get the full amount but a guy coming in as a straight up tank might only get like an extra 1K health bonus.

Frankly, outside of a few exploity style builds, most tanks can be ignored. It sounds cheap, but it really is, like 90% of pvp complaints, a L2P issue. We just work around the tanks if a group attacked us. Make them watch all their friends die. Then turn and focus them down at the end. And though we don't normally love to Xv1 someone down, if you are built as a tank, then that's essentially what you are built for. I've played tank builds in pvp and never had a problem with getting focused down by a larger group. That's like playing a tank in PvE and complaining about the boss hitting you.

Nerfing some aspect of characters isn't the answer

More powerful siege always has been. They always buff siege and fix the issue of immortal tank build for a few weeks then folks whine and they revert it.

The game MUST have Tank, DPS, and Healing Roles no matter what. A dps solo pvp toon thinking they should be able to beat a full on tank is simply unreasonable the tank is the polar opposite of the dps toon, instead of investing in damage and sustain like the dps toon, the tank invests in high health and mitigation. This is balanced.

Tanks have a right to play the game too ya know. I dont use any tank build myself but I'm not going to protest against a valid style of play.

    This.
Health doesn't matter, you have 24k health templars who are immortal because they can heal so much
But the worst are the dk/wardens and necros, tankiness and OP healing, unkillable unless you zerg them down

Also those 50k health tanks run such high health intentionally to put the majority of the games dps burst combos out of reach of being able to kill them.

Since they are mostly support roles they dont have much damage. May be annoying but seems fair. It's a trade off

Thought....Lmfao, get some tissues, take some deep breaths, and you need to stop the skooma, Cx.

Everything dies in cyro, even those few damn good tanks that don’t kill but are there for strategy.

Small scaling is about coordination between good players that enjoy wiping out sloppy nerfling zergs. Nerfling zergs that just follow crown ap farming and seemingly have no plan in place, lol.

In small scale we use all roles to achieve the desired results. Not only making the game fun but showing what teamwork can accomplish in a game.

What you’re asking to nerf would not even affect what you’re crying about but ruin other parts of the game.

ZoS should nerf AP gains by the size of your group or cap them !! :D

Hint discord is your friend....and more play styles are needed, not less.

The problem with PvP atm is the flat damage reduction percentages . As it stands you can get an absolutely absurd amount of flat percentage damage reduction. Add to that the readily availability of major and minor protection, major mending and major vitality and you have an obvious recipe for disaster. That is the major problem in PvP atm. That and the obvious op classes atm. Stam necro, wardens and templars that have an absurdly complete kit with everything and it's mother being baked into it.

The fact that there has not been - any - mentions about any of this in the PTS tells me they are fine with the current situation. Which is crazy. And sorc is still the only class with 0 debuffs. The whole balancing issue atm is completely and utterly borked.

Then you have the fact that stamina just rolls over magicka classes atm cuz of the Devs bias toward that Playstyle and you have an imbalanced, jumbled , bias mess. Fought a group of templars today with a warden thrown in and you couldn't even debt their health as a mag dk. Just purge purge purge purge purge, and then major protection constantly being up.

Frustrating and incomprehensible to say the least.
