Guild Halls

I really wish they would add a function to the guild tab for a guild hall. Currently you have to scroll through the list of 500 guild members to find the one person whose primary residence is the guild hall. I feel like guilds should have the ability to select a persons house to designate it as guild hall and it be easily accessible like at the top of the guild page or in a similar fashion as how your promote your guild in zone chat. Recently one of the guild leaders of my trade guild has been off line so I have to search through like 400 people before I actually find him and its just a pain. What do you guys think? is there a better way to do it than how I am or is this something that is needed? Let me know! thanks have a great day!

I agree! I absolutely welcome any changes or additions made to guilds in general. Adding a "Travel to Guild Hall" or "Visit Guild Hall" option when looking through a guilds Ranks, History etc would be great.

There is so much more interesting and fun guild functions that could be added such as:

-Tax Rates when selling via guild traders. (Optional)

-Perks for having (x) amount of members in your guild. (Increased listing slots, increased furnishing capacity, slight buffs when in groups with guild mates, see guild mates on the map, have more guild mates at your guild hall etc).

-Guild calendars to plan and coordinate events.

-Craftable guild armour sets made by guild leaders. Craft your own custom guild set choosing from a wide range of possible passives and procs. Perhaps add a totally new and separate system OR add a system that allows you to craft a set and choose things based on what pre-existing armour sets that you are currently wearing. For example, if you wanted a set that had a combination of Spriggans and Hundings, you would have to be wearing both sets in full to be able to choose from all the options. Out of the 2 (2 pieces) of either set, you could choose one or the other, and continue up to 3 pieces, 4 pieces and 5 pieces.

Some of these ideas might not be viable at all but so much more can be added to guilds. The possibilities right now with current conditions is endless.

    I agree.

However, a few ways to make searching easier:

    - There is a search in the upper right-hand area of the guild roster where you can type at least part of the user name you are looking for. That will pull them up.

    - There are tabs at the top that you can click on to re-sort the list based on criteria you want. The default is listing people who are online in alphabetical order. Click on the Name tab and it will resort the list to pure alphabetical order (whether they are online right now or not) so you can more easily find the name you are looking for.

    - If your GM is kind/logical, they should have - and maybe you can suggest it if they haven't - ranks in their guild. If their own home is the guild hall, that's easier. If the guild hall belongs to someone else (such as in my case - our founder is the guild hall, but I am the GM), they should make a rank called "Guild Hall" or "Crafting House" or whatever suits best. Then assign the person that rank. And move that rank up in their list so that it's near the top - in my case, it is one rank below my own as GM. So, when you go to your guild roster list, you can click on the Rank tab and it sorts the list from highest/GM to next ranks of officers to members, etc. That, when done correctly, puts the higher-ranking Guild Hall (or whatever they named the rank) near the top. For instance, I have a note in our About Us that tells folks whose house is the guild hall and to sort guild roster by rank for quick access. When you sort our guild roster by rank, I am at the top as GM and the very next person below me is that special Guild Hall rank I made for the person who owns and maintains our guild hall. Easy-peasy lemon squeezey.

This is one of those MANY MANY so obviously necessary things lacking in the game.

ZO suffer from the delusion that people LOVE addons.

They don't. Mods - which are very different creatures - are a big component of the success of the single player games. But releasing an MMO with fundamentally broken or so woefully lacking functionality that the game is nigh unplayable without a whole bunch of addons is not smart.

Cos a lot of people are just going to see a woefully lacking game and not stick around.

Yes, there are addons which can pick up the slack.

While these add-ons are nice, they basically just reduce the amount of mouse clicks required. The "Guild Hall" is still just a glorified house that one person has to maintain and the availability of this house is dependent on his/her housing restrictions, not just being apart of the guild.

I might not have great dps like a PC player does but the moment I do (if ever lol) ill know I achieved it on my own not with an add-on telling me to push button Y now. Maybe I just dont know what im missing or maybe im on to something lol hard to decide.

We already have add-ons like "Port to Friends House" (PTF) that can save and bookmark a place to travel to even if it isn't the person's primary residence. Would be nice if a guild could designate someone's home as the Guild Hall and allow all guild members to port there without issue. Shouldn't be too hard to implement.

    No no no.

I don't use ANY combat related addons. Apart from pet health - which merely displays a pet's health bar. Kind of essential and totally should be part of the base game.

But without addons like personal assistant or the writ crafting ones - the game would just be a great big pile of tedious clicking through UIs.

Ones which adds map markers for POIs and dungeon bosses also means you have to alt-tab out of the game all of the time to check maps online for locations you need. Which is tedious as hell.

Would specific add-ons make certain things easier or more convenient? Yes, I'm sure they would.

It's not a question of difficulty, as you flagrantly misrepresent it.

    It's a matter of fun.

eg. prior to ZO redoing the guild trader interface to include something as basic as a proper search function was ridiculously tedious. Addons were necessary to avoid that.

And if you're not subscribed or played before the introduction of the crafting bag, the tedium of managing the game's huge number of crafting materials is mind-numbingly tedious. Spending 20+ minutes a day manually shuffling items back and forth between alts is not fun.

It would be really helpful if there was a great big go to Guild Hall button on the main guild page.

It would be really helpful for PC users if there was a great big click here to join our Discord button on the main guild page

They’re both simple* things that would make my life in guild so much easier.

*simple as in a great idea, but probably harder than I imagine to implement

    How hard is it?

Officially this game has no guild halls. I suspect ZOS are fully aware that players are creating a work-arounds by designating one members primary residence the guild hall, but I also suspect they don't want to call attention to that because it would highlight how inadequate the system is.

Adding a "go to guild hall" button that sends you to a players personal house would effectively be an admission that we won't get real guild halls.

It could also cause issues by giving players the false impression that this house and it's contents belong to the guild and the player can't take it all away at any time they choose with no repercussions. Imagine donating to what the game had told you was your guilds hall only to find that because 1 seemingly random member left those upgrades you helped pay for are gone and now "belong" to their new guild.

    Yeah, this.

I would love to have guild halls, either by being able to set a house I already have as one, or if they introduced a new 'house type' as guild halls. Maybe 2 per alliance? 1 could be at each capital and the other could be out in the boonies.

I would also love to see at least one for each chapter that has come out for the game. Morrorwind, Summerset, Greymoor, and Blackwood.

I think the biggest hurdle they would be faced with for something like this is how many players would they need to allow in the hall at one time. Seeing as a guild can have 500, I don't personally don't see the limit every going past 50 players at any given time, even then 50 players is a lot.

But I would love to see guild halls!

    Agree with the suggestion.
But until then, sorting by role in the guild roster puts the GM at the top, and it is usually their house that is the guild hall, so not that difficult to find them.
