However, a few ways to make searching easier:
- There is a search in the upper right-hand area of the guild roster where you can type at least part of the user name you are looking for. That will pull them up.
- There are tabs at the top that you can click on to re-sort the list based on criteria you want. The default is listing people who are online in alphabetical order. Click on the Name tab and it will resort the list to pure alphabetical order (whether they are online right now or not) so you can more easily find the name you are looking for.
- If your GM is kind/logical, they should have - and maybe you can suggest it if they haven't - ranks in their guild. If their own home is the guild hall, that's easier. If the guild hall belongs to someone else (such as in my case - our founder is the guild hall, but I am the GM), they should make a rank called "Guild Hall" or "Crafting House" or whatever suits best. Then assign the person that rank. And move that rank up in their list so that it's near the top - in my case, it is one rank below my own as GM. So, when you go to your guild roster list, you can click on the Rank tab and it sorts the list from highest/GM to next ranks of officers to members, etc. That, when done correctly, puts the higher-ranking Guild Hall (or whatever they named the rank) near the top. For instance, I have a note in our About Us that tells folks whose house is the guild hall and to sort guild roster by rank for quick access. When you sort our guild roster by rank, I am at the top as GM and the very next person below me is that special Guild Hall rank I made for the person who owns and maintains our guild hall. Easy-peasy lemon squeezey.

Thank you @DragonRacer I will try these tonight and see if it works on console. I never knew you could do any of these options I thought I was just forced to scroll until I found the person I was looking for.
This is one of those MANY MANY so obviously necessary things lacking in the game.
ZO suffer from the delusion that people LOVE addons.
They don't. Mods - which are very different creatures - are a big component of the success of the single player games. But releasing an MMO with fundamentally broken or so woefully lacking functionality that the game is nigh unplayable without a whole bunch of addons is not smart.
Cos a lot of people are just going to see a woefully lacking game and not stick around.
Yes, there are addons which can pick up the slack.

The "Guild Hall" is still just a glorified house that one person has to maintain and the availability of this house is dependent on his/her housing restrictions, not just being apart of the guild.

Currently you have to scroll through the list of 500 guild members to find the one person whose primary residence is the guild hall. I feel like guilds should have the ability to select a persons house to designate it as guild hall and it be easily accessible like at the top of the guild page or in a similar fashion as how your promote your guild in zone chat

I used to wish for add-ons but it seems like some basically play the game for you. I might not have great dps like a PC player does but the moment I do (if ever lol) ill know I achieved it on my own not with an add-on telling me to push button Y now. Maybe I just dont know what im missing or maybe im on to something lol hard to decide.

Would specific add-ons make certain things easier or more convenient? Yes, I'm sure they would.
But does the game require a whole bunch of add-ons to prevent it from being nigh unplayable? No, it does not.

Recently one of the guild leaders of my trade guild has been off line so I have to search through like 400 people before I actually find him and its just a pain. What do you guys think? is there a better way to do it than how I am or is this something that is needed? Let me know! thanks have a great day!
Haven't really had any issues I just type the first few letters of the person whose house serves as the guild hall, into the search roster box on the top right hand side of the roster page.
No need to scroll through the entire guild roster, just make a point of saying who hosts the guild house in your guild info, so people know who to look for.

or you know... You can use the filter on top to order guild roster by ranks and go to the one on top, since it's very extremely likely your guild Hall is the GM house.
How hard is it?
Officially this game has no guild halls. I suspect ZOS are fully aware that players are creating a work-arounds by designating one members primary residence the guild hall, but I also suspect they don't want to call attention to that because it would highlight how inadequate the system is.
Adding a "go to guild hall" button that sends you to a players personal house would effectively be an admission that we won't get real guild halls.
It could also cause issues by giving players the false impression that this house and it's contents belong to the guild and the player can't take it all away at any time they choose with no repercussions. Imagine donating to what the game had told you was your guilds hall only to find that because 1 seemingly random member left those upgrades you helped pay for are gone and now "belong" to their new guild.
