campaigns: how do you take over a town

Last night I went in to take my town back. Took the two outer flags first and then went for the center. While doing the center one of the outer flags swapped back to previous. at first I thought there was another opposing player. I went back, took that flag again and while I was at it the center of town reverted to previous. This went on for some time. Eventually I ran back over as soon as the flag was under attack and sure enough NO other player was there. The previous alliance soldiers were respawning!

What am I missing? I clearly had the flags as I stayed in place and waited for them to convert. the first one I took never reverted. are there other soldiers I should be looking for other than the ones around the flag? It was dead of night at the time and I thought Id gotten them all.

Capture all 3 flags as quickly as possible. Only when all 3 are under your control will the town flip, and I actually believe there was a player stalking the area trying to stop you. Unless you actually were so slow the guards respawned but that takes a while.

If you flip the flags slower than the NPCs respawn, then the flags will flip back with the NPCs under them. Most of the towns this isn't really a problem to do. Only Cropsford can be a bit of a pain when solo because of the extra NPCs on all flags takes more time.

I cant say how to do cropsford as timer doesn't let it happen but for vlas get merchant flag then quest flag as they both have guards on them then the free flag last. For bruma get quest flag then merchant and last free flag and all flags only need to be half capped not full capped to claim town so dont fully cap any flag just half capp them all but again gl on cropsford as ive yet to get it worked out

On Bruma and Vlastarus, I tend to start with the guard-free flag so to minimize the time the other two have to respawn. Its really whatever works. :)

Bruma you have two free flags as if you move from quest to merchant you wont aggro anything and most defense comes from dragonclaw knowing timer it helps me know if another player has shown up
Vlastarus merchant has most guards and defense comes from Brin so again capping it 1st knowing timer it helps to know if another player has shown up
Just my way to see things

It's fairly easy to flip all of the towns...if unopposed.

The thing to watch is you don't actually have to flip the flags 100%. Once you see the entire faction emblem it's flipped enough, and you can go to the next one. To know for sure flag is flipped enough, you can see it as solid color on your navigation bar. If it's not flipped enough, there will be a colored outline around a white flag.

Another way to do it is to just kill all the guards on all the flags, then flip the flags...but the first method works better IMO.

Vlast and Bruma are easy, I assume you want help with Cropsford, which is a bit of a beast to solo in no-cp.

Really, it’s about having high damage and AoE damage, that’s basically it, clear the NPCs fast enough and you can take the town.
