Guild Store Suggestion

When you talk to a guild trader (kiosk) in the world, you have an option to open the guild store window or end the conversation. What if there was a 3rd option to "Apply to Guild" that would take you to the same window in the Guild Finder as if clicking one of those advertisements in chat?
You wouldn't worry so much about what other people thought about you, if you knew how little they did. - ??

That's actually a good idea. The guild master should have that option. That way he/she could turn it on/off for when the guild is looking/not looking for new members. Could also include an option for info on a sister guild if there is one.

That’s a brilliant idea. I’ve actually had several people join my guild who were SO HAPPY to either stumble upon it in Guild Finder or find a friend who was in it to send an invite (per the messages or whispers I get from them), because as a trading guild I am quite easy to find in one of our usual trader city hubs, but without real search by name option in Guild Finder, it’s hit or miss if I show up among the sea of other trading guilds when they search.

In all honesty, being able to search by guild name in Guild Finder would make many happy. Could be someone saw a guild advertisement in zone chat, liked the linked listing, but was on an alt and the guild has a CP requirement. They think, “Ah, I’ll look them up in Guild Finder on my main” and GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Or a returning player trying to find their old guild. I was witness to this a few months ago in Craglorn zone chat. Some poor fellow was going around zone to zone to find anyone who was in his old guild. He’d taken a long break and got kicked for inactivity. Old GM wasn’t answering so likely Crown had passed. This was a guild that usually has a mid-tier trader and because I go around after flip to see who is now where, I recalled what city their trader was in that week. I messaged him where his guild’s trader was so he could go find the trader, scroll through the seller list, and find a name he recognized that he could message for an invite back. For giggles, I did try to find this guild in Guild Finder trying all sorts of search criteria. Never could get their listing to pop.

About a half hour later, he messaged me profusely thankful. My lead helped him find his guild, find a name he recognized who was selling in the guild, and they got him invited back home.

All I could think was “What if the timing was off or we didn’t land in the same Craglorn instance?” (his guild was in Marbruk that week) Would he STILL be searching for his guild today? It should not be this hard.

100% for this. Simple and effective. Instead of players just randomly picking guilds and sending mass applications through Guild Finder.

Similar thing kinda already exists, but unfortunately not via base game.
Currently "Awesome Guild Store" addon has that as a feature:

When you approach a guild trader and open the store window, there is a small info icon on top, which you can click and it sends you to guild finder page of this specific guild, if GM listed the guild to the guild finder.
At the same page you can send application by pressing "R."

Perhaps something similar could be implemented into base game too.

    Great idea.

It might be better to direct players to that guild’s info page (where they could apply) rather than a straight application. This would help inform players about the guild and any requirements in terms of sales or dues and whether they were recruiting.

Give the GM the option to turn this on/off so they’re in control.

One potential issue that needs to be considered is that many trading guilds are at cap (some with wait lists) and you don’t want this feature to result in a large number of applications (which take time to deal with) when the guild isn’t recruiting.
