How do I improve quickly the "legerdemain" skill line from 6 to 10?

Do I still stuff and sell it? Which places are recommended?

Thank you!

The ships in port in Daggerfall. Take the Thieves Guild fence if you have her to sell and launder everything you can find as you go. 1 gold items don’t lose value due to the 30% cut, as 0.7 rounds back up to 1.

There are other good places too, but that’s pretty efficient.

First, get blade of woe from the gold coast/DB sillline, easy if you mange to pickpocket the first door on the right as you enter the town, he's alone, kill him off, use an edict to clear bounty (or tidy your inventory and head to a guard or fence in outlaws).

Once you get the blade of woe, you pickpocket the easy ones three times, the hard ones, twice (cause, even if you didn't pickpocket it, when you sell it to a fence it will still count on your legerdemain), make sure to get as many pardon editcts as you can (safeboxes or notice board (countess addon)) Pickpocket whenever you're sure no guard is near, and just pay off the bounty and let em take it if you're caught, at first ;D

Pickpocketing is the fastest way, like aim for little cities/settlements with no unkillable guards ;D And pick every lock you can!

    Yes, that's the fastest way.

Once you have reached your daily laundering limit, go to the Ebonheart docks in Stonefalls and pickpocket everyone there, then kill them and wait for them to respawn.

The apple orchard in Belkarth, Craglorn is also good. The apples are stackable and the thieves den to sell them is right there. The apples also respawn each time you exit the thieves den.

Okay, how many guts should I grind each day at Khenarthis Roost? I am on legerdemain level 6 right now.

I always do the ships in daggerfall. Takes between 15-20 minutes to steal enough to hit your daily allotment of laundering and selling even if you take the time to run back to the thieves den to unload. A good mix of stuff so you can usually launder materials and sell everything else. You can get close to a level a day but that will be true wherever you steal from because of the cap on amount you can unload.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

it will still take a week or so because you can only sell so much a day. expect 3/4 to 1 level a day.

There are lots of great “looting routes” in places like Abah’s Landing; Rawlk’ha; Vivec; etc. - where you time the length of the loop for maximum chest re-spawn; pickpocket along the way; and only take green & blue stolen items to fence.

The daggerfall port ships are great for stealings unobserved, the kenarthis roost sheep are also quite good tho its annoying that you have to travel to sell off the guts... but both options will get you a nice load of stealables until you hit your fence limit.

Pickpocketing also works once you do have hit the limit for the day, but so does treasure chest hunting, with the added benefit of being able to sell the stuff. Especially coldharbour has a couple locations where you can do a never ending treasure chest circuit along the edges of the floating regions, and find chests to lockpick pretty much without end... as long as your lockpicks hold out, and your inventory can hold the stuff.

But mostly... stop worrying about "how fast", and just go with the flow. That way, you have a lot less stress, and will still get there soon enough! ;)

well, the most profitable way is doing resource gathering rounds in Hew's Bane and picking locks of chests along the way. Hew's Bane is full of resources as well as full of chests. If that gets boring make a thieving/pickpocketing round in Abbah's Landing until your fence limit. Should get you to 10 pretty fast

If you have the Orsinium DLC, the city of Orsinium is a great place to steal stuff. The king's keep and the Greedy Gut inn (I think that's the name) are great places, and when you're leaving the keep, there is also a house that will be on your right soon after you leave the keep that's a great place to steal from as well, only I forget the name.

^^ This. It’s not a race. There’s barely any real benefit if you do it fast and don’t enjoy it. That’s really not how this game works.

Breaking into houses and looting them (especially in Vvardenfell) can also net some nice furniture recipes which can be very valuable.

    Have fun

Hi @fetito666 this guide by @Anemonean is epic https://roguesfolio.tumblr.com/guide

In essence, focus on maxing out the number of things you steal per day, items. Find a boat or a market (Riften is ok) and ensure you skill point the passives to hand in more per day. And pick pocket too obviously.

You'll hit it in no time

Agreed. The best way is try to not get caught, sneaking, evasion etc. However some just want it done.

I thoroughly enjoyed slow leaving a thief for thieves guild DLC if I'm honnest

House in the middle of Wrothgar where everything is stealable and there are no NPCs present. One full pass will get your bags to 80%. Do a dungeon and repeat.

I lvl’d Legerdemain to 20 in around two weeks with this method.

There's this hourglass-shaped yard of the Order of the Hour in Kvatch if you follow the street to the east. There are always four fast-respawning guards (of the killable sort), one smith and two civilians there.

I tend to pickpocket everybody twice, then kill them. The guards are far enough apart so that they will not see each other be killed. One of the civilians moves around a lot and thus may be a tad more difficult to pick clean; he usually is the first to go whenever I'm doing an Order farm run - just be sure to check if he's in a spot where the guards cannot see him.
This yard is a pretty good legerdemain farm IMO. And you often find other players waiting there; most of them don't decline a group invitation so farming is even faster.

    EDIT
The unkillable city guards never come to this yard. It's really safe. If you don't have the means to quickly get rid of your heat level, just wait in the yard if you want to.

When does the "fence" limit reset? After 20 hours or at the time when the pledges / writs gets refreshed?

It's Belkarth and yes I found it useful seeing as pickpocketing is terrible while your legerdemain is low. Put your first points into the fence/laundering skill that ups the limit you can sell/fence daily.

As well as stealing and fencing..No one has mentioned that it levels by picking locks?? buy yourself a lot of cheap lock picks and go out and pick away. xp scrolls and potions go for all type of experience too don't they?

edited to add: if you get the add on harvest maps it will show u all of the treasure chest locations. just read the instructions .

Dont overlook that both Laundering and Fencing contribute to leveling the skill line.

So, grab all the Provisioning ingredients. If you don't have bag space, make foods and drinks and vendor them after laundering

There is only one type of actual XP. You do get a small amount of XP from picking locks, so the scrolls and potions will affect that. But they won’t affect increases in Legerdemain (or any other guild line), which works like a kind of reputation, or things like crafting inspiration.
