Rattlecage worth using on a Templar Healer?

I'm trying out Rattlecage + Transmutation on my Templar Healer. With the lack of Major Sorcery for the class and not wanting to use the potions for the source. Is the extra spell damage a significant increase in healing? Just wondering opinions, thanks.

Better off using bright throat, crafty, seducer or gossamer depending on preference and content.

Since you don't want to be a potion addict, the only other options are having a supportive Dragonknight with their Group-wide buff, or using Degeneration(Entropy). You could still use alliance points to buy basic spell power potions from one of the NPC's, but other than that? Take your pick.

Though my templar healer is PvE, she runs Rattlecagex5, Seducerx5 and Earthgorex2. I won't suck potions routinely so that is out. Degen is not worth a bar slot. Rattlecage works very well for what I want - major sorcery without losing a bar slot or sucking potions. Earthgore also effectively saves me a bar slot by allowing me to use Combat Prayer + HoTs instead of having to slot a burst heal.

Not meta but I'm happy with the set up. :)
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

I think rattlecage is a decent set, but would rather use degeneration and another five piece set if I didn't want to chug potions.

Yes. Massive healing power. Been using it for well over a year. Earthgore with it to save your allies through oh *** and burst. Pariah and fortified brass if you start feeling squishy. Kagnaracs hope will actually add even more awesomeness to your healer tool kit it is my preferred setup with rattlecage. Bloodspawn also very helpful for ulti heals and more tankiness. My healer is almost always last standing cause he's so hard to kill. 15k heals nothing on this build.
I meant in pvp. Pve heals are much stronger. No one will die in pve with this healer.

It IS worth a bar slot if the alternative is using an entire 5 piece set to provide a single buff. HPS is secondary to providing buffs and resources to the group; neither of which are provided by Rattlecage.

I've been liking transmutation with it the crit resist for everyone is nice, adding to mine and the teams survivability.

Thanks all for the opinions, sorry if I wasn't clear this is for pvp and I like the heavy armor build. I don't like the bar space for degen, pots would be more the option. It just seems most people would use a Magicka or Regen or shacklebreaker type set with transmutation (which is what I was doing). But even with rattle I have 30+k Magicka, 25k health, 12k stamina and 2400 Regen (unbuffed) so stats are ok and I don't have to use Magicka on degen or use the bar space and I have options on pots (it's nice having the ability to get stam back with a pot or immovability)

Really, I'm losing like 200damage (cause you would normally get+300 instead of 100 on a 5 piece), but I gain 100% uptime on major without having to take a space, use Mana and cast a spell and I can use pots when I want/need and not to keep buffs up

It's up to you in the end...You can find a use for any set in the game as long as you take it into account with your build and playstyle.

This is why argonians are master race because with any potion you get resources back. Only problem with rattle is having to transmute 3 pieces of jewels unless you are running it on the body then its w/e you want.

I could see a rattlecage (sturdy) and transmute (spell power) troll king (sturdy) setup being very strong in pvp with block cost reduction and max mag regen.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Juwelry also come in arcane and are dropping from the first boss. So easy to farm. 1 hour max and you should have them.

But as a Healer i dont see the needs of major sorcery tbh. I am running Transmutation, Meritorious Service backbar proc and master Resto Frontbar. Giving my mates and me a lot of tankyness. And my heals are strong enough even without major sorcery
