no audio on guild vendor greeting?

Guild vendors when I approached them used to have a audible greeting when the guild vendor window opened up. Now, when I interact with them, I see the same animation - their lips moving - but there is no audio to go with it.
Does anyone know - is this a known bug, or is there a setting or add-on somewhere in my system that is suppressing their audible greeting?
