They give u a guaranteed emblem every day, as long as do 1 daily. By 10 days, I'll have 10 regardless even if I just did my 1 daily for tickets, and 50k AP isn't much, so it makes sense for me to convert the emblems into an emote.

In fact I would have liked to have the 3 alliances AND a legion zero one.

It’s the poor messaging that causes the negative feelings. Zos has stated they’ll refund your tickets if you felt misled.

I've been trying to wrap my head around why this was the route they went with. Some effort was made to change the colors. But apparently not enough time or interest was there to make the banners the actual alliance standards. They took the time to create an icon for the emotes and even naming them Ebonheart, Daggerfall, Aldmeri etc. But somehow they just didn't feel the need to make them actual Ebonheart, Daggerfall or Aldmeri banners.

Someone on that team had to have known it was not going to go unnoticed by the community. And that some of us would call them out on it.

I'm leaning toward the official word from ZOS_GinaBruno saying it was intended to in fact be a type of retcon for a mistake. But the link to the Legion Zero style pages being offered can't be denied...

Does suggest that it will be you character’s Alliance banner.

Instead it’s a totally unrelated banner in three crappy pastel colours.

I mean it’s a nice emote, but ffs someone at ZOS should have had the sense to call this out and get it right.

They are often derided for putting more effort into reskinning horse mounts than fixing bugs, but apparently they can’t even manage colouring in effectively.

I'm just glad I bought this with event tickets (I was at cap, had to buy something) because if I had ground that event for 10 fragments that can only be earned once a day AND spent 50k AP on a non-Alliance banner, I'd be really annoyed.

I also like the wording of the "We understand that some of you may have been expecting something else when you purchased it" - it literally says Daggerfall Covenant Banner at the vendor. What else would I expect?

I doubt I'll ever have any use for the Legion Zero versions, so I doubt I would have put any effort into acquiring them. That being said, what I really want is the Imperial version (but I also want the *true* three alliance banners as well!).

50k AP isn't that much. You get Pelinal boxes with Rewards for the Worthy - so you can't even help getting 50k AP while collecting the boxes. 50k AP is about the average of five battleground matches. (Edit: Or even fewer, with the Pelinal bonus.)
And there's really not much to do with AP.
Sure, I could vendor them out of spite just to "show it to the man", or whatever. But then, the effect that would have is close to zero, and I don't really feel strongly about this minor issue in a frelling video game. So why not just get it when ZOS decides to throw junk my way.
