Cannot attack that target because of the prevent attacking innocents option

First off, the option itself is disabled. It was the first thing I checked thinking I might have done it by accident. When I try to use soul trap on an "innocent", I get the error message and the ability won't fire. LA works fine, HA works fine, snipe works fine, blastbones works fine, it's just soul trap causing the problem. I tried relogging once I noticed the problem and it's still there.

On which platform and mega-server have you discovered the problem you've reported? ZOS cannot investigate it without that information. (Please read Guidelines For Bug Report Forum for advice about writing a useful bug report.)

PC-NA, but if you had looked at my signature you would have known that.

PC-NA, but if you had looked at my signature you would have known that.

That was not in your signature at the time you posted the OP and not there at the time which I read it.

We are well-aware that when anyone creates or changes their signature for these forums, the forum software will add it to all posts and replies which that player has already made. That can become confusing when a player uses a particular platform and/or mega-server, then changes subsequently to another one instead and deletes the mention of the prior platform and/or mega-server from their signature. .....

Do you really think that we are that ignorant or stupid, or what? Please grow-up and graciously accept responsibility for your errors and omissions.

I do not believe this is a bug. I believe the idea originally was that the skill was for trapping minor souls, a.k.a beast souls. Since originally we had much diff types of soul gems.

It's simply that the skill was forgotten to update once the soul gems were uniformed for convenience and storage reasons.
Considering the passives in that skill line are far more useful for filling up empty soul gems. It's no wonder its only now discovered.

Most people use more useful skills on their skill bar.
I dunno if this will be updated or left as is. But the skill line that comes from the main story from the base game is not exactly a priority, so don't expect it getting fixed any time soon, if they even think it needs fixing to begin with.
What are Natch Potes? Can you eat those?
    I believe in Genie-Gina.

The thing is that it works once they take damage. It just can't be the first hit.

Does Not change the fact that it's a skill overlooked often since it's not a skill used in pvp so it doesn't require balancing. so prob hasn't had a dev look at it in years. And chance of a dev looking now isn't very high. So work around its limitation or choose other skills to use. You can re-gain the skill point using some gold and a respec shrine.

I found a bug, and I reported it. Why are people being so snarky?

    Greetings all,

After removing a few posts, we would like to remind everyone that Baiting other members of the community is a violation of the rules we have in place.
Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
When making posts, please keep them civil, constructive, and within the guidelines of the rules we have in place. If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    -Greg-
