Question regarding 3 trials

Hello smart people!

I was checking my achievement and saw that I still need to do the following trials:
  • Aetherian Archive
  • Halls of Fabrication
  • Cloudrest

I have several questions:
  1. Are those trials difficult on normal? I am rather in for my achievements.
  2. Can I just ask in Craglorn for pugs? What are the abreviations for those trials?

Thank you!

All trials are quite easy on normal, though if you're the tank or healer you may be under heavier scrutiny. There are often pugs running those trials - AA and CR more than HoF - but I'd check a guide first so you can actually contribute instead of standing there wondering what to do.

This is especially true in the case of nHoF. Out of all the trials in the game, not including the extra difficulty options for the mini trials (AS+1/+2, CR+1/+2/+3), HoF is generally considered to be the most difficult since it is long and demanding (especially so in the veteran version).

Of the three trials you listed, as @daemonios said, it is generally pretty easy to find pugs running nAA and nCR if you go to Craglorn and ask in zone chat. People do run nHoF on occasion, but it might be a bit more difficult to find a group for it (HoF has a bit of a reputation).

    Good luck!

Depending on the time of day (and server I suppose) you can usually get a group for nCloudrest (usually +0, but I've seen some for +1 and +2, odd one for +3) and nAA from hanging out in Craglorn. You will be much better off finding a guild that does trials to try putting together a nHoF run. As others have stated it is a longer, more difficult trial that even on normal can be difficult. I've run with groups that do it flawlessly, and others that struggle through if, even with a few people that know what they're doing trying to help those who haven't through it. It's a fun one though. My personal favorite.

What does +0, +1, +2 and +3 mean? Is that a difficulty slider? Who decides the difficulty? The group leader?

In effect, yes, but it's not a discrete slider.

In Cloudrest, there are three "side bosses" (each "boss" actually a pair consisting of a humanoid and an animal companion) arranged on outer platforms around the main area and then the "main/final boss" in the center arena. You can kill each side boss separately from the main boss, and if you do all the side bosses first, that's +0 because you end up fighting the main boss on her own. If you leave one or more side bosses alive before entering the central area, then you're choosing to fight them with the main boss all together. However many side bosses are left, that's the +x (+0 to +3). +3 is quite challenging compared to +0, but you open up better loot, like jewelry drops, that don't appear on the lower difficulties like +0 and +1.

So it is a kind of difficulty slider, but you don't adjust an actual slider or change the mode in any setting. It's just dependent on which, if any, side bosses you fight before entering the main area for the final boss. The group leader will decide this ahead of time.

    • nAA is easy but MUST have 12 players to progress between stages, so can be painful if someone disconnects or crashes. (Base game trial)
    • nCR+0 is easy enough, but you need to learn the mechanics on the first three bosses or you can wipe the group (esp 2nd boss). (Requires Summerset)
    • nHoF is hard for first-timers, higher dps requirement than any of the other normal trials, but will be significantly easier when Update 25 is released, if you can wait that long. (Requires Morrowind/Vvardenfell)

On non vet, all 3 are very easy. No worries.
i would recommend doing AA on vet for the dye. (white)
vAA is pretty forgiving and easy as DD. Heal and Tank have the more difficult and important job there.

    [snip]

Edit: To respond to OP, nAA and nCR are easy. nHOF can be a pain to form a group and is often a pain to complete in a pug as everyone needs to know the mechs on final boss.

Okay now the last trial I need to complete is Cloudrest:

Is the following command useful in Craglorn? Or should I rather go to Summerset?
    /zone DPS CP619 LFG nCR

    Thank you!
