So...

Bridge goes down....AD and EP can’t cross.

Milegate between EP and DC, EP can go over it while broken. DC can not.

Milegate between DC and AD, DC can go over while gate is broken and AD can not.

Essentially, AD has the short end of the stick?

I dunno Kur - for one thing I don't get why no milegates in AD area. For another, seems like AD is always in major control (at least when I was fishing on my 4.... which is why all but one were AD....)

I haven't a clue, and don't want a clue. I take my mains into their area to get the two easy skyshards, and since I'm done fishing, that's it. Not ever going back now.

Maybe..... then again AD can just as easily shoot out the sides next to the gate and now nobody can cross.

So AD has to focus 2 areas while DC 1?

I dunno, seems like a disadvantage.

This has bugged me since the feature was introduced. While I like the idea of having a bridge as the equivalent of a milegate at the AD-EP border, its implementation makes that border much more equitable between AD and EP than the lopsided milegates between AD-DC and DC-EP.

It's not only about who can cross when the center is destroyed but also who can get the high ground. The faction with stairs on their side (i.e. EP > DC and DC > AD) can get up on top of milegates for the height advantage. By contrast, the AD-EP bridge is equal: each side has a tower, and each tower can be destroyed. For all intents and purposes, the bridge is symmetrical when you look at it along the AD-EP axis. Not so the milegates, which give a distinct advantage to one of the two bordering factions whether their gates are destroyed or passable.

To make the bridge match the milegates, they would have to remove the EP tower and then make sure that one can jump from the AD side/tower to the EP side but not back.

Alternatively, take down the stairs at the milegates. No one can get up top, and neither side can use it if the center is destroyed.

As to AD always being in control, that's demonstrably untrue. There are definitely times where it feels like one side is dominating heavily, but the faction in control of the map changes constantly throughout the 30-day CP campaign. Certainly AD can't always have been in control when EP has won handily (by nearly 10k, iirc) over both AD and DC the past few campaigns. If AD pushes EP, they've done so despite the fact that they have to leave the bridges up in order to cross, whereas DC and EP can both leave the centers of their milegates down to forestall an attack and still push into AD and DC territory, respectively.

Take a good long look at the map again.
The milegates and bridges are between factions. They are the borders.

No one has more chokepoints than the others. ADs "passthrough" side is EP via bridges(easiest cross even under fire).

It doesn't matter, no one bothers taking the time destroying them. Whenever someone tries, others riding by will try to turn their siege around to delay/annoy them. If they are destroyed, someone will repair them quickly.

I admittedly only did a quick scan of the first couple pages of interwebs search... but how many repair kits are needed to fix a bridge so it becomes passable again? I believe it’s something like 8k repair for each kit...

Figuring out what essentials I need to stock up on before heading out from base is one of the reasons I love this event. So many mechanics, techniques, and tons of cool stuff to learn!

You have to take in a whole lot more than just these few physical structures. Terrain for one. Tactical approach and placement as another example. There's a ton more to commanding warfare, and IMO, the sides are pretty equalized. As long as we don't talk population uptime and downtime.
