Frequent login locations changing bannable?

My partner and I want to play on the same account, however, we currently do not live in the same place.
Would us logging in from different locations so often (once a day) cause any negative repercussions towards his account?
@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom , or anyone who can answer this question legitimately, information much appreciated :)

Logging in from different locations will be what draws attention, but it won’t be what gets you banned. The account sharingwill do that. The terms of service state that:
Accounts are non-transferable under all circumstances.

Operating with the intention of sharing an account with a person in another location will get you shut down. Better to get separate accounts and play together.

As others have posted why do that when the base game is very inexpensive and it is against TOS.

But, to answer your question your I.P. address and Computer I.D.s are different so you would get a prompt to enter a code that is mailed to the email address for that account.

Whenever I use my laptop traveling I get the "Unknown I.P." address and have to enter the mailed code. Whenever I update the BIOS I get the same prompt on login and have to enter the code.

I suspect if you did this every day several times a day the account would eventually be banned.

As far as I know, 2 people sharing an account is bannable right there regardless of any distance or IP differences. You may want to check up on it to be sure.

Won't get you banned as long as you don't share with multiple people from random locations. Just the 2 of you should be totally fine. I travel the world for living, I'm in different country every ~1-2 months, and I share accounts with my GF normally. Even when we're back home and traveling across the country.

Imho, when it's just 2 of you, regularly switching on same accounts, you should be completely fine. The GMs do have some common sense too.

Pretty sure the TOS refers to malicious activity involving more than 1 account, rather than simply restricting it entirely. A different story might be if you're online dating and cannot physically be on the same IP ever. As in my case I can prove that we're indeed family.

Should ZOS have a problem there, you both can still easily claim you're partners just trying to help each other ingame, since they will likely have you prove it via email and IDs, so I really wouldn't worry much about it.

They likely want to be able to help each other on their accounts, rather than just having one and only one account for both to use. I know for a fact that ZOS does have understanding of it as long as it is within close family. The only issue where TOS will be brought up is when something happens on those accounts (eg. Lost items, gold, etc. due to partner dispute etc.), then ZOS will exercise not having to take responsibility for the items/characters etc. in question.

TOS isn't just YOU'LL GET BANNED THIS INSTANT IF YOU DO ANYTHING REMOTELY BAD. They most certainly have access to things that may clearly tell them its just 2 people in love or friends trying to make things easier for each other. As such there is no "threat" to the server, Zenimax, nor other players and the only thing that might happen is that ZOS WON'T HELP YOU WITH RECOVERY. That's why it's in the TOS. You might not be able to appeal for a ban for example. Or lost items/gold/characters etc. That's on your own if you break this rule.

I have appealed on this issue before. It's and it's okay, as long as you're both not doing anything stupid that is critically against the TOS. Exploiting, hacking, cheating, etc. You both have an account of your own, right?

I think I understand here...you guys pitch in to buy all dlc for the one account and share it...

I was going to say quick and leave "why don't you both buy your own accounts duh..."
However I will agree, sharing accounts is a great trade off... and it should not be bannable in my opinion...

#1 you both can't play together at the same time

#2 you share the same resources (less people loading up the servers)

#3 You still bring in revenue...(Either shared accounts buying almost all dlc/chapters or 2 accounts with no extra dlc or subscription buying)

#4 SOMEONE IS ON THE GAME DOING SOMETHING....(player count up)

However, you are SOL if you try to claim you were hacked..Your request will fall on deaf ears....As a company I would ignore that request...you're responsible for your account sharing....

I've played MMOs for 20 years almost (19 ish lol) Most of the time...anything that is shared WILL BE COMPROMISED...I don't give a crap if its your own brother...

I'd recommend waiting for a steam sale...or something...

This is our case. We are on different continents for now unfortunately, but we would be sharing the account. Nothing malicious, just us both enjoying the game on the same account. Thank you for your reply, this really helped me understand your point and I will discuss this with him. Thank you :)

Well I hope not because I live between two houses and login at both.

I don't share the account with anyone.

Incorrect ANY account sharing is bankable if they notice it.

Pretty sure it's NOT bannable. It's in TOS so that ZOS can safely ignore any possible issues related to account sharing. Not everything in TOS = bannable, and even if it was, its more of a personal issue, putting the priority far below other things and would likely get you a warning before any hard action.

I have to ask: why? You don't need a subscription to play, and the base game is often on sale for as low as $10.

I wouldn't go there myself (not that I have someone who WANTS to play this game on my account - as in, husband has NO CLUE about computers, games, the internet... hey, he's 85, he's happy I KNOW stuff). The reason I wouldn't go there is because account sharing is just asking for trouble. Break ups, divorce, death, kids.... SO much crap happens IRL.

Don't do it. You'll be very very sorry someday.

yes we both have our own accounts. he just doesn't have a lot of time to play now it is tax season so more work for him. i wanted to help him out with things like feeding mounts, skyshard hunting on low chars, all that mundane stuff that takes a ton of time, and we both don't have eso+ so already there goes a lot of time for him with managing inventory. I just wanted to help him out you know? but if it puts his account into jeopardy then there would be no sense in it.
