Pure Snow Indrik Visuals: halo mistake

The halo around its antlers is the same as the Luminous Indrik (yellowish), while its pet counter part has the correct halo around its antlers: frosty/white halo. It's unfortunate since I found a perfect match for my guardian Breton wearing the exact same colors and ice specialization... Please, make that Pure Snow Indrik have an actual snowy halo around its antlers, the fiery/or poisonous yellow one is totally out of context (was it a mistake?), thanks! :-)

The halo on the white indrik is more yellow than the pet’s, but it’s whiter than the one on the luminous. I saw them side-by-side yesterday.

It seems very weird to have this in-between glow.

ETA: On second thought, this might be meant to help complement the slightly golden tinge on the indrik's feathers. It still seems very weird to me.

Yes, that was my point actually. As a "Pure Snow" RP character that I've built along, it doesn't match. The pet is perfect though, and I wonder why they haven't done the same with the mount.

(sry we can't modiy a post) Yes, that was actually my point. I've built a "Pure Snow" RP character along getting that Indrik (since I live i the Great White North I like snow ), and it doesn't match because of that poisonous halo looking like vaporized pipi. The pet is perfect though, and I wonder why they haven't done the same with the mount.

Yes I think you're right, it was essentially meant for color matching. The colors are Antique White on the feathers (and thus the halo? Looks as the same color), and Julianos White on the rest, but the designer forgot about its purpose:

• This mount has a name, Pure Snow: it's a race relating with snow and frost from the Indrik Specie (it's not a matter of having a wearable with matching colors, it's a matter of having an Indrik race in a role playing game).
• White matches with almost any other color. Having a white/FROSTY halo wouldn't make it uglier, it would make it more relevant in evoking its snow/frosty race.
• Given the above two points, it should be a white/frosty halo since this is a ROLE PLAYING game, as my "Frost" Breton Guardian Super Hero looks awkward with this mount: Tamriel's people should recognize her Frost role and character when they see her riding her "Pure Snow" mount.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

One of the things I’m noticing in them is that the almost golden color on the feathers (Antique White, I guess) can be done really tastefully as distinct trim on feathers and on clothes. But for the halo on the antlers it’s impossible to do a “trim” to contrast with a “base color” - the two just kind of swirl together to make this neither-here-nor-there in-between. I think that’s what’s making me think the adult Snow halo looks strange.

I wonder if they did it this way to give it a different hue from the Onyx’ white halo and from the Luminous’ yellow. But to be honest I wouldn’t mind if they had just reused the Onyx’ white one for the Snow indrik, since the rest of the body coloration is very different. It also would have been a nice touch to see a point of similarity between otherwise opposite color schemes. The Luminous, on the other hand, seems to have a very white body, so much so that I had to check whether they’d recolored it since release. So the Luminous and Snow aren’t quite as distinct as I’d like given the close-but-not-identical halos and the white underbodies.

Unfortunately all this is probably moot anyhow, since they don’t tend to change things on Live except in clear cases of bugs, like improperly modified assets (Bloodspawn staff and Elsweyr tents, I’m looking at you).
