Is there more content like Maelstrom?

Just came back to ESO but I've been playing on and off since beta (~500 cp). Until now, the most fun I had in PvE was leveling 10-50 in cyrodiil back when the <50 instance was always full. I just tried maelstrom (didn't even realize it was solo content until I accepted the ESO+ free trial and looked up things to do in the DLCs) and it was so much fun that I stayed up all night trying to finish the run which took me 6 hours. It didn't help that I set it to vet and grabbed my tank to see how far I'd get. Between figuring out mechanics and tweaking my build/equipment, 6 hours for the whole dungeon isn't too bad.

Is there any other content like like maelstrom in the game? Vet dungeons are nice but I prefer to be able to join/leave any time I want (kind of like Cyro/Imp city). World bosses are fun too but the challenge is mostly due to a large hp bar instead of unique mechanics.

No. You can try running Dragonstar Arena or Blackrose Prison solo, but if you leave they will reset.

    Not currently, no.

However - you can certainly try solo'ing the 4 man arena's like Dragonstar Arena. Similar, but made for 4 people.

The Maelstrom arena is unique, though, in that it saves your progress between stages. So if you have to leave after stage 5, you can move on to stage 6 after jumping in again and don't have to repeat the first ones.
Neither DSA not BRP work that way. Once you leave, you have to restart.

Not yet and I really hope they add more. It has been a long time since any solo content that poses a real challenge has been added. I was hoping the new chapter would add it but unfortunately I will have to wait a bit longer.

This is a fair point, that I didn't think of.

Nope. Only challenging solo PvE content in the game, nothing added in ~4 years.

Which is why people consistently keep asking for higher difficulty settings in overland content, but alas, nothing.

Quite pathetic imo, but it is what it is.

Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

Most of the 4-man dungeons in the game can be completed solo. Some have unique group mechanics that a solo player cannot pass, but most do not. On normal difficulty, early dungeons are quite easy. As you get to later dungeons and DLC dungeons, normal starts to get more difficult. Veteran base-game dungeons are very challenging to solo but can be done by good players. While I bet there a handful of people who have completed Vet DLC dungeons solo, that is probably not realistic unless you are willing to devote an extreme amount of time to it. There is even Vet hard-mode on final bosses if you are really a masochist.

Just choose normal or veteran in group finder. But instead of queuing for a group or starting your own group, just teleport to dungeon like it was a wayshrine. You will now be in the group dungeon as a group of 1. As mentioned, though, progress will not be saved like Maelstrom. If you want to clear it, you have to kill all the bosses without taking a break.

With so many dungeons and both normal and veteran difficulty, some experimentation will usually find you a place that is right up your alley in terms of being a significant challenge, but not impossible. Exactly what place that will be can vary for each person, and vary even by person as they get more experienced and skillful.
