About to shut down my computer for the night but I was wondering about this question for a while, so I thought I'd make a poll.

So far definitely dps. I sometimes like tanking, but not in any form of vet content, I'm not confident enough in my tanking abilities for that. Really would like to try healing with the Templar I'm about to make, but... this is probably stupid, but I always wonder how hard it is, to look out for the group in addition to the enemies/bosses, and I don't want to leave anybody hanging, so I've never tried it until now. But maybe I'll finally give it a whirl and see how it goes

I hate easy roles. Which is why I prefer DPS in dungeons. In 4-man arenas I prefer tanking. And I think trials are boring and frustrating because most people are terrible at this game.

I love tanking in most games, but the players in this game value it so little that I rarely do it in the context of a pug or regular group. Instead I reserve my tanking for duo'ing things with my wife.

ESO dungeon healing is all kinds of weird.

One of the reasons I don't do much group content.

Agree, I love healing, but most of the time I'm just dpsing..
Heal is not important enough in eso, thx to put heal on the dps stat.

Healers are pretty pointless in ESO, and it's for the very reason you cited. Would be nice if they made us have to actually sacrifice damage in order to have strong healing in this game.

i like having responsibility so healing is my favorite: heals, buffs, debuffs, babysitting those little dps dingalings who htink they have to “collect” all the red circles they see....
it gets frustrating sometimes but i really do love it!

i enjoy tanking, but i dont enjoy tanking in trials.

i have a dps, but its just for messing around.
i dont like “mashing buttons to kill it quick,” i think it is boring.

It used to be the tank.

I used to LOVE tanking in this game.

I had a tank in each class doing vet dlc dungeons.

Now? I can only stand resto/lightning for group PVE.

Healer is my favorite role but I do tank if I have to. I still remember doing vDSA and having to heal and tank at the same time while our normal tank dragged off the extra bosses from taking us out.

Healing is the least stressful. You have one job, and if the Tank and DDs do theirs, you won't be accosted by Mobs.

I like healing because it's so damn easy most of the time. I literally can't hit over 35K dps on a 3 mil, but I can heal vet hardmodes without issue.

This! I'm so bad at playing damage dealer in this game because I just can't do the light attack weaving thing. I've tried it a thousand times, I just can't git gud. I guess I'm too old and clumsy. I enjoy healing because my main focus is to keep the group alive (instead of dps).

Healer. Half or more of what you do as a healer is damage dealing anyway, so you don't really miss out on much healing rather than DDing.

This is in dungeons.

The real reason I heal is the practicalities of queue times, but I for the reasons above I don't feel that that's a sacrifice.

I love being the healer or support role. That has been so in every mmo. Then DPS. And i only have ever tanked in eso, but i have to say it was more fun then i expected.

After a long day it is just so sweet to take off my heels and get my tanks out.

It is really nice to know the mechanics and hold large groups of adds to be sent to sithis for a bday present. Annnnnd oh my, a first person view of the bosses without letting my group know >_<

I love doing dps like my bf taught, as well.

The forum itself is not reflective of the ESO population at large. That said, I feel like a lot more people play healers than in other MMO’s (haha, first played healer when a SWTOR RP guild demanded/assigned me to it, lol!). In ESO, by contrast, too many of my friends also main healers!

2 years out of game and my tank is still the only bis or end game ready build (all dps change too much)
