    You're not a one-off here with that. That's the point - my mate told me it never pops out to anyone who was not born Russian whatever Russian language mastery they have. Some mental feature, if I recall his words right. A real mystery. Reading those comments above I see he was right on that - the mystery works, though the meaning of that term turns out to be some other or at least more complicated :).

    I think the problem here is that zvavi starts at one point of the star and then goes along the lines the way you would draw a pentagram - with 5 lines, so 5 sides. You on the other hand go along the outer shape of the pentagram, which then equals in 10 sides. It's just a matter of perspective. :)

    I personally would see it as 5 sides, too, but I guess both points of view are valid in their own way.
