Steam Pricing for ESO: Greymoor Upgrade Edition (Possible Error)

When I went to pre-order Greymoor on steam I noticed that Upgrade Edition is 60% more expensive than the previous years Elsweyr Upgrade Edition. And Digital CE edition is 55% more expensive than Elsweyr CE (Elsweyr editions themselves were 60% more expensive than the Summerset editions).

At this point Greymoor Upgrade Edition is more expensive than most AAA games such as RDR, Star Wars, Iceborne, Cyberpunk and what not. Frankly the price is borderline ridiculous (even for just the plain upgrade edition) and I am hoping that it's just a temporary pricing bug that happens due to localization. Steam region is India, and I will list out the pre-order + release prices for the various expansions that were released over the years

Morrowind Upgrade Edition at the time of release: 999 (local currency)
Summerset Upgrade Edition at the time of release: 1299 (local currency) ~30% more expensive
Elsweyr Upgrade Edition at the time of release: 1999 (local currency) ~ 65% more expensive
Greymoor Upgrade Edition at the time of release: 3330 (local currency) ~ 60% more expensive

Seems the same price for me as the previous ones. Maybe it's just your local currency that's the problem.

Maybe it is fixing the price right.

It used to cost you 1299 indian money which is US$18 to get Summerset, 1999 indian money which is US$28 to get elsweyr, while US players pay $40.

Now greymoor costs you 3330 which puts the price back to $40 range - it seems ZoS is fixing the price so you now pay the same as US players.

But the issue with that it completely negates the concept of steam local pricing (which exists because not all economies are equal and have different purchasing powers). The current price makes it way too expensive for most of the people / players who live here, especially for an expansion pack

Either Zenimax doesn't understand the point of Local Pricing or they simply don't care.

They either just set the price equal for everyone or saw the backend sales data on steam (which might provide information that supports the price change). Either way good luck with the change and you might have to get used to live with it or wait until it is on sale.

The basic Greymoor upgrade on xbox was $39.99, same as Elsweyr. Perhaps youre looking at the Base Game+Greymoor prepurchase bundle, i got that confused myself.

It is more expensive than previous ones for us in New Zealand as well its $15 more than Elsweyr and Summerset, I'm getting the collectors bundle as I always do so that's the pricing I am referring to.
