Very high ping, difficulty staying connected

I have been having really big ping spikes during the event that is making doing dungeons impossible.
Normally my ping is about 300 but I am been fully lagging out (999+) or trying to push through dungeons with 600-800 ping.
Anyone have any idea how to reduce ping or should I just sit out the event since I can't play?
