Best morph for Spirit Guardian (necromancer) on a healer?

This class is new to me, but I'm playing it as a Breton Healer. My instinct is to take the morph that allows more healing for a shorter amount of time. I feel like I could manage to cycle the guardian in every 8 seconds. Is this the right choice, or is there anything about the other morph that makes it worth considering?

The other morph makes you take 10% less damage from everything, which is pretty helpful IMO. Either way, I wouldn’t rely on the ghost to do much actual healing, it can be unreliable.

Use the shock mage instead, that's how you get unchained.

It does 3x healing, but half the duration, the 10% damage reduction isn't super necessary unless you were more in a pvp environment imo. It's clearly the healing morph if your comfortable with keeping it up. It heals every 2s so make sure to only resummon it right when it dies so you can get every heal tick. Should be easy to keep up on your front bar.

Funny you mention that...I'd been using it because a couple of people in other threads had recommended it as a good source of sustained healing. I was thinking it might be a sort of substitute for HoT skills on my Templar (my main healer). But I've been watching it as I run dungeons to level up, and it does seem a bit lackluster. Might be okay for overland exploring, but on groups I'm not sure.

    What is "unchained"?

I would use the intensive mender. It has a big 360 degree heal, so can even heal behind you. Also that way you have good corpse generation for other skills.

Both morphs are really good, but in the end it all boils down to personal preference for the utility the ghost itself provides rather than its healing: do you want it to die quicker and have quicker access to corpses (like do you have a lot of skills requiring corpses) or do you not need the extra corpse from it and prefer to have extra survivability.
