Ive clicked Aldmeri Dominion (hate the word Dominion) mainly because elves are awesome and sexy, particularly High elves. In fantasy lore I am all about elves of every kind.

But in actual fact when I create characters, each and every one is in the alliance that their race is part of within ESO, thats just automatic, I dont even think about it.

The whole Alliance War story seems utterly irrelevant to me. I don’t care enough about any of them for it to matter.

It’s actually an impediment to me playing PvP as my main character has a different alliance than my friends’ so we can’t play together.

I remember the days when the Daggerfall Covenant were truly outnumbered, starting off from launch on PC in March 2014, then switching to Xbox when it came out for consoles in June/July 2015.

I've been true Covenant since the beginning, all alternates Covenant as well. I remember having to fight outnumbered amidst the blood red oceans of the Pact and the elitist yellow swarms of High Elven-led Templar groups of the Dominion.

I've seen things in my day... but from the dust, with the heart of lions, the Covenant has risen greatly. Covenant nowadays has become a popular choice to choose now. Although I disagree with many elitists coming over to the faction just to 1vX etc, we do boast some of the original greatest warriors and honorable war strategies proven on the fields of battle.

I've been privileged and honored by the choice to stay true to the Covenant and am grateful they finally added Alliance Lock to a couple campaigns. It has brought back a sense of faction pride which went missing in Cyrodiil.

This is a somewhat complicated question for me.

(1) I have so many alts.

(2) I have alts of every race and alliance.

(3) My favorite characters by far tend to be Bretons and Wood Elves.

(4) I tend to feel most emotionally connected to DC. (Eventually I may have to get Any Race, Any Alliance and come up with a backstory for a DC bosmer!)

(5) I also have Imperials, and so you would think that I would make them DC since that's what I consider my true home alliance. However, for some reason it always seems right to make them AD, so that's what I've always done so far. I've realized that it's mostly because it feels like my Imperials would decide that the AD is strongest and thus their best chance to take back their homeland from the daedra. If we get more slots, though, I do sort of have a backstory in mind for both a DC Imperial and an EP Imperial.

I only have DC characters. I can't even stand the select character screen from the other alliances! DC has the best story, the craziest characters, the coolest zones, blue color, the lion symbol everywhere!!!! DC is awesome!!!!

Played exclusively on AD when I first started playing because "Elven Supremacy" but switched to EP, mainly because of the guild I'm in.
Also my favourite race changed from Wood Elf to Dark Elf

Most of mine are AD but I do have one each for the other alliances, but that was mostly to help friends farm chests in Cyro for their motif pages cuz they both didn't want to buy them lol. As someone who only PvP's for AD, being at the other gates feels bad lol

I identify as DC because it's what I have played for the majority of my time since release, although I was AD for beta. I don't think we had the option for Any Race, Any Alliance for beta. I've always played a stealthy Bosmer archer in the single player TES games. However at the time of launch, for PvP, DC was the underdog and at the time the friends I played with along with myself preferred an uphill battle as at the time AD had a monster of an emp that just dominated everything. That being said, I do play on all factions in both PvE and PvP. NOT IN THE SAME CAMPAIGN, as that's just like fighting against yourself at the end of the day. Also, I meet a lot of nice people from other factions so I like the option for them and I to go to the unlocked campaign and kill together, rather than being constantly on the business end of their sword.

Well all my main original characters (created as Bosmer) are on AD. Then I made some Imperials in DC. Then I made some “bad guys” on EP, only after 1Tamriel because I sure wasn’t going to tank or heal the bleeping Pact players.
Then, I got the ARAA pack late in the game. Then I created some more characters and chose their alliance based on personality. (For example my Warmonger is EP, Businessman is DC, Nature freak is AD) After all of them reached 50 and 60/60/60 in riding I was invited to a pvp guild that is DC loyalist.

I don’t care for most faction nonsense. I just want to play my new necro with my new guild but I can’t, unless I recreate him and hope everything will be worth it 6 months down the line.

I see no reason to choose the AD unless you just really like elves. Their motives are the same as the covenant but that elves are better than humans. And the pact still allows slavery, just not argonian slaves so that ruins them for me.

I play an Imperial, because I always played Imperials since I started TES back with Morrowind.

And the faction I chose to play in is the Daggerfall Covenant. Because they are the only faction that hasn't some form of "master race" attitude to deal with. They want a united realm where everyone can participate in equal measure, no matter their origins. That's what the Empire stands for in its glory days, and that's what my character will fight for.

The Pact is out for me because the Dark Elves are racist slavers, only putting slavery aside for the time to save their necks. The Nords only care about their internal squabbles, and most of those are fired by sheer stupidity. The Argonians I can respect, but their culture basically revolves around themselves, with no place for other people. (Which is fine, but not contributing much to the goals of the Pact as an alliance.)

The Dominion suffers from being led by Altmer. While Queen Ayrenn has the right ideas, it is hard to believe that she will ever be able to overcome the elitist racism so many of her people display. The Bosmer... Honestly, I have no idea what the Bosmer want for anyone, aside from following their bizarre Green Pact, which doesn't make much sense in itself, and (hopefully) only applies to Bosmer, anyway.
That said, I really wish the Khajiit were part of the DC. Because their ideas for the people of Tamriel coexisting are those of trade and exchange that would benefit everyone.
So my only other character is a Khajiit. And because I don't want to spend money on the "Any Race, Any Alliance" package, she is AD. But only because of that.

The whole thing is mostly a (cosmetic) RP question for me, though, because I don't do any relevant PvP, so I don't care which alliance is the "strongest" in terms of leaderboards or that whole Cyrodiil mess.

Played DC after release. Started playing on Xbox 2 years ago with EP. Just finished the AD quest line with my new main. Questline and connection between the races of AD is the best IMO.

Been Daggerfall covenant since day 1 on all 9 of my characters went with Daggerfall covenant simply because Bretons are my favourite race.

For ESO it's AD, there's no real reason for it other than me liking Bosmers but I also like Imperials & Bretons. These are usually the 3 races I start with in Elder Scrolls games....more-so Imperials though.
