Like any event, I'm interested for about 10 minutes. Then seeing it's the same old boring, stupid grind, I just ignore it. Not sure why people go bat crap crazy over motifs and an ugly mount.

Solo a dungeon for tickets

On NA, I'm going to solo a dungeon each day if possible.

On EU, I'm trying to solo FG1 but my character is too poopy and it ain't goin' so well. I managed to make it past the 1st boss by dying many times while whittling down the MOBs 1 by 1, but now I can't get past the 2nd boss. I logged out (still at that spot), so I'm hoping that when I log back in I'll be able to resume where I was? Don't think I've ever logged out in the middle of doing a dungeon before, so I'm not sure.

I should have stuck to my plan. Instead I decided to give the group finder a try. After 30 minutes queuing as a DD templar I switched to my level 34 warden healer, got a group, got told one of the DDs declined, group a group, got told a DD declined, got a group, got into Blessed Crucible...except there was only me and the level 44 tank.

We decided to make a start while we waited for the group finder to get some replacements and ended up doing the entire dungeon as a duo. The group finder just kept resetting to 'someone declined' and asking if we wanted to find a replacement and even people we invited to the group directly weren't able to join.

We finished it, but it wasn't an experience I'm keen to repeat.

if they wanted us to really stress test the finder they should have given us halfway decent rewards in the reg boxes to give us incentive to run more of them. I'm certainly not going to sit through pugs and long dps queue times for a single transmute crystal. wtf zos.

I checked the rewards and they don't interest me, the skins are ugly and I'm no completionist. Already have 2 Indriks and don't even use them.

I'd like last year rewards a lot more (mounts, pets, etc). Plus the pain of having to manage the inventory with all that extra mostly useless stuff like inspiration scrolls.

You can mark the scrolls as junk and delete them much quicker without typing DESTROY.

Although I'm already maxed out on tickets and feathers. I'm not sure if I'll farm boxes or not. The opal pages are so blingy, they just look way too shiny for my character's look.

Random queue while soloing FG1 for ticket. If the queue pop before me clearing, it will most likely pull other into mine half done FG1 instance. So fast dungeon for them. If the queue doesn't pop before me clearing, that just mean dps queue function as normal, so I will just leave the queue.

Pickup enough keys to get the shoulder pieces I can (already really close), already picked up the staffs I wanted, will use tickets to get helms I wanted. And that will be it, basically. Not much time to do anything since it's only 4 days...

Very few pages are worth it to me. I want the Engine Guardian bow, staff, head and shoulders.
Shoulders I picked up with spare keys and got two.
Bow and head I picked up with tickets.
Staff will either be bought with gold or tickets, I had 12 excess tickets and earning 3 more to keep topped up is only a few goblins and one giant Dreugh away.

well to be fair, its going to be mostly solo for me with occasional groupfinder if I feel like it, but I don't plan on farming dungeons for blue boxes. once a day for tix/purple box and call it a day.

I got everything i wanted engine guardian set so other then getting my tickets back up to full im done will be solo fg1 for tickets anything i get here out might make so ok gold

I just do the event for the tickets. Enjoying PvP a bit more now, so less interested in doing dungeons this time.

Well, I think I'm done with this event on the EU server, thanks to a fellow guild member who basically screwed me and another guild member out of our rewards-- my first day's 3 tickets and reward box, and the other guild member's reward box. (I think she'd already gotten her tickets earlier in the day.) How? We grouped together and the oh-so-thoughtful-and-polite member ran ahead and killed the final boss before the other two of us could follow along. By the time we battled our way through each of the MOBs and bosses and got to the end, the final boss was dead, we of course could not loot its corpse because we hadn't been there to land a single blow, and there were only 10 minutes left before the daily reset. For the life of me I can't figure out why the oh-so-thoughtful-and-polite person answered my guild chat message about looking for a group, because clearly they could do the dungeon solo and were more interested in doing that than in helping out fellow guild members.

All I can say is, thank goodness I can solo on the NA server. If I can somehow re-spec my EU main character to where he can run the dungeon solo, then I might participate in this event some more on the EU server. But I'm done with grouping.

Although I used the finder on tank just after the event started, was afraid it would get canceled as last time.

I decided to jump on my healer most the time tonight and queue for vet versions of the four dungeons that drop the opal helmets. All but one queue was instant. All groups were pug groups and we did hard mode for all but one where a DPS attacked before we could activate. Several runs were no death. All in all not a bad first day.
