Best armor set for Tank

currently have a tank as necro
i normally do alliance wars and when i engage as ravenous goliath i charge in into large group of enemies. and when not in my ulti form, i try to stay back and stack my ulti.
which armor set is best for tanks that charge into enemies and withstand large number damage.

Check Cyrodiil crest and Warrior poet sets, and for second set you could pick max hp (Plague doctor or Green pact) or hp regen to have more survivability (Alessian or Endurance + Potentates 2 pieces, for example). Add Troll king for bigger hp regen or Bloodspawn for resists + ultimate generation.

Ironblood and impregnable are really strong up front damage mitigation sets, all block cost reduction and watch the show. It'll take a large group time to take you down if they can. My warden tank has a blast with this setup. You will need minor and major protection as a tank and impregnable gives a lot of critical resistance so to allow more cp spread into like direct damage reduction or hardy and elemental defender. If you get real good with mist form you'll really *** some people off lol.

I’ve never tried it but I’ve wanted to try heavy armour Daring Corsair. It might fit your described playstyle too because it helps with Ult gen.

I'll second Cyrodiil's Crest. You might consider combining that with Reactive or Pariah. The latter may synergise well with the high health you get in Goliath form.

Building for high health is a double-edged sword, because you trade away magicka or stamina and regular healing skills usually suck on a health tank build. You need healing skills that scale with health, notably the vamp drain, in that case. If necro has such a heal, you may be in business. I don't know necro, but every now and again I run into a newly-minted PvP health tank. Those players usually all have the same problem initially: They don't heal sufficiently and can be wittled down.

Health really is a secondary stat in PvP unless you specifically build with health-based skills in mind. In PvE, tanks need high health (35K to 40K as far as I know) to survive one shots. In PvP one shots as extreme as those in vet DLC dungeons and trials don't exist. Once you're in the 25K to 30K range, you should be fine.

Resistances work (the more the better), unless you get Onlaughted. Also: crit resistance: 3K in CP. Impregnable Armor was popular for a while and can get you higher. That's probably still quite good. One hand + shield just makes you tanky. However healing, and specifically healing over time, can make you appear just as if you were tanky in PvP. For example Steed mundus + Seventh Legion + gold food + tri-pot gives you 2K health regen with no real sacrifice, so why not go for that? Seventh is probably not ideal for Goliath, but it's just a general example of how to get ongoing healing into a build, even if your class didn't allow for it. It's important to look at all sources of healing you can get and stack them.

Do you happen to know if Crest of Cyrodiils heal will trigger Troll Kings effect? I was thinking of pairing those for my build if they synergize.
