Scroll Running - any chance of a reward?

Is there a task more tedious than running scrolls across a whole map in Cyro?
had a discussion with some mates the other day, and it was suggested there should be some sort of achievement or reward if you successfully deposit one (furnishing, money, AP or similar)… It may potentially bring a bit more interest to PvP in general, and drag some of the PvE completionists in? Sure it will cause a bit of chaos and upset some guilds when a random 'steals' a scroll - but TBH, anything's better than that irritating hammer!

Most guilds who run scrolls have a person set up to run, stam, speed, orc or whatever.

A slow heavy armoured DK tank may not be optimal for running the scroll but may be perfect for picking it up, then handing it over to the runner. Who gets the reward?

The reward is returning the scroll to where it belongs.

The one who places the scroll gets the reward....!
It's not just about a guild with a pre-made runner, it's also an opportunity for a bit of fun and mayhem...

Returning a scroll is a team/alliance effort. Making it an individual award is not the goal.

You want a fast, probably stam, build on that scroll. Not an achievement hunter.

And yes, I've run a scroll all the way across the map and it's really tedious even with major expedition the whole way.

Everyone says that, but I'd sooner it get picked up by a player who's not so "fast" (but still has plenty of stam). The number of times I've seen the scroll runner outrun their support is... disturbing. Especially given the experience level of a few of them.

I wanna see carnage, with scrolls being dropped and retaken only to be recovered again! Having a superfast specialist is a bit boring in my view. Thinking about randoms queueing up to pinch a scroll whilst a full-on RP PvP Guilds gnash their teeth makes me smile. And if you are prepared to take the time to run across Cyro, a nice little reward or achievement is far better than your name being broadcast to a zone for 2 seconds....

In theory, yes. Sometimes being in the right spot trumps all those qualifications. Better for a not-so-fast, magicka character to take it than leave it on the ground for an enemy to pick up.

Well, yes, but in an ideal world, Yolo Pug doesn't pick it up, but a member of a group does so that their group can cover their butts.

The reward for running a scroll is your name on the screen when you place it. Anything above that would lead to abuse of the system. If AP was awarded you would have people going into keeps, logging out to drop it so everyone in that group gets a taste of the AP, as well as pugs trying to get in and get a hand in on it too. On top of that I think it would cause people to focus less on the opposition as say, a temple, because they would be to focused on picking up the scroll for that touch of rewards. As someone who runs scrolls very often, I do wish there was something for my efforts, but as stated, these things take up a chunk of the factions effort, so only awarding myself would be a slap in the face to the people who kept enemies off my back so I could pick it up, or protect me on my long trek home. Even making it so only the person who places the scroll would lead to issues. I could see someone on the faction that is carrying the scroll convincing a friend or guildie from an opposing faction to jump the runner at the gate (if its a home scroll) so that they have the opportunity to steal that bit of AP. Sadly that last one has a high probability as a lot (not all) people in this game are out for themselves, regardless who it hurts, allies or 'frenemies'. Well, I have talked enough, thanks for this post as it's been something I have thought about too. Happy hunting everyone!

The reward is being the hero for your alliance and the scroll quest.

I thought if this when the game launched but realized it could have negative consequences in several directions.
