ESO shuts down my notebook.

Few days ago while I was playing ESO my notebook shut itself down. I could not even turn it on. Samething happened like 13 months ago so when I decided to give it to be repaired, they said it only needed to be cleaned and thermal paste needed to be used. So this time I gave it again so they can look for it, once again they refreshed the thermal paste. Today I got my notebook back, it works. The thing is when I launch ESO and login, during the loading screen before character menu my notebook shuts down. Tried few times and all the same. Login, shut down, turn it on again, login, shut down and so on. So.. Right now I am even afraid to start the game. I tried other games but they work fine.

What should I do? Any ideas?

Sounds like the game causes either overheat to the point if shut down or is simply too demanding for your notebook. Notebooks are not really meant for gaming, and are notorious for crappy airflow. Might try minimal graphics, though it would be more helpful if you post the specs. People done realize but eso is a rather graphically heavy game.

What cris suggested. Unless it is a decent notebook a game like ESO will push it to it's limits.

I would suggest using a monitoring program so you can see the temperature of the various sensors on the notebook. I use MSI afterburner and can see the temp of the GPU and CPUs and more.

can you post your system stats? what settings you use to run the game it may help alot more, for an over-heat to cause a shut down your cpu would have reach well over 75c and damage your motherboard thermal paste is just to help with the conduction between your CPU and the heat-sync.
it sounds more like a hardware error than a temp problem, try the following see it it helps
in the game launcher go to preferences and switch it, to 32bit client and change from Directx 11 to 9. make sure you have updated all of your C++ runtime environments

You know this is interesting..because I tried ESO when it first launched and I had a decent MSI laptop, same issues then I got transferred to Beijing for a couple years and games just fell off the map, I finally got back to it after building A pure AMD machine (Threadripper CPU, Raedon VII GPU) later last year, and now the fans don't even rev high despite using some serious custom Reshade shaders and textures.

Hardware it seems can be a huge bottleneck even today, but I can see the improvements to the engine from then to now.

    Get a gaming PC....

The notepad is probably shutting down due to overheating,
at a bare minimum get a monitoring/fan controlling program and see if adjusting any fan/s to run at max helps (speedfan or similar - maybe)
try a 'laptop' cooler, the type that you sit the notebook on
and adjusting ESO settings to the lowest you can stand, and increase them slowly back to normal until the issue recurs, then step back a little

    I can suggest Real Temp:

    https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

This little app will monitor CPU temps but it is useful since your game is freezing the device because it can log the output to a file, so you will be able to see if the CPU is cooking prior to crashing.
If yes, then you will know for sure is that a problem

ESO + Notebook = Does not compute.

On a serious note however, I've yet to find a legitimate gaming laptop/notebook which does not have some issue with hardware or software... It's probably just not possible to have the best of both worlds (mobility and performance) on a gaming rig with current technology. I recognize and sympathize that mobile gaming is the only choice for some, but there really is no way around the drawbacks sadly :( I hope you find a solution.

Posting your DxDiag or game consultant report in the thread would be helpful for troubleshooting. You can upload the file to a site like pastebin if needed for access.

Oh, I just realized my previous post could have been interpreted incorrectly. I'd just like to clarify that my post was referring to my experience with gaming in general on notebooks, not my experience with ESO on notebooks.
