Lag on EVERYTHING!

So, as of last night, The game is unplayable because of a a severe lag/ frame-rate of 10... or so , and delay from button to action to the point i don't want to risk combat in-game.
I thought, addons, but that's not the issue because I turned them off to no avail. Second I searched internet for others... nothing that's resulted in results.
To the people who are going to blame my computer settings or graphics card... no. I play the game at full capabilities all the time with the same computer with no problems until last night. All my drivers are up to date etc.
What;s interesting is that it's just as bad a lag in the menus and in the character selection screen... any body know what I should try next?
