Necromancer tank / dps hybrid build?

Currently I play a necromancer, and I totally fell in love with the tanking-spec. Nearly unkillable, and fun to play. However I still need to do like 90% of the overland content, but as tank...well, the dps is horrible. Does anyone have a simple yet good enough way to spec that I can do that at least a bit normally then I do now? Would be appreciated!

Usual method is to switch at least one of your 5 piece sets to a DPS set. Often body slots (chest, legs, gloves, boots, belt) into medium or light 5 piece set, depending on whether you are a stam or mag build.

You can use an addon like AlphaGear 2 to save different gear and skill profiles, switching between them at the click of a button

When I used to have more than one toon , on my sorc tank i would use heavy gear and then a damage set, either stam or mag depending on your build , and I would enchant all of the pieces with stam or mag, and also use the mundus for more stamina or mag as well during overland, not necessary tho. Also used nirhoned weapons front and infused damage back.

    For Example.

On my sorc tank I used

5 piece thunderbug armor, all heavy - mag enchants
2 Piece Maw of the Infernal - light - mag enchants
5 piece Mad Tinkerer jewelry /weap - damage enchants for jewelry / arcane trait / 2 lightning staves - one lightning enchant, other weapon damage / spell damage.

I still use this setup for overland on my only toon now, really fun and silly and bad ass. Pretty much unkillable, and more than enough damage for overland, can even solo pretty much all bosses except the ones in elsweyr, and thats with my stats int magicka instead of health =P.

PERSONALLY as a necro tho i would try to build the sets around your class to fit the style. Like Nerieneth , Bahrahas Curse and unfathamoble darkness or something =) . Youll still be super tanky via your passives, stats, and armor, but youll also do more than enough damage and it wont feel out of place, for example if you used the monster set to summon bears. =P . Overland is where I like to go for flash tbh, cuz you dont have to worry about anyone complaining about the meta, and its easy enough that you can be creative.

You can unlock the 2H skill line and use mauls or greatswords as a basic weapon when you do overland content, together with sets like Hundigs Rage and Spriggans, one of the two in medium and a dps Monster Set like Selene, Stormfist or Velidreth. You will have more than enough dps to clear almost any overland content alone and fast enough, except some pretty tough WB. And without touching your CP.

The norm is to keep your CP and attributes the same as your tanking set up and just switch your armor sets to a DPS set up. Using crafted or overland gear is easiest since you don't need to build for super damage. Hunding's Rage is a staple and can be paired with anything. You'll still be plenty tanky due to your CP, but you'll have the damage to make questing faster.
