[New Life Event] Event debrief - how satisfied with the event are you?

Overall it is a good event, satisfied with the snow globe home.

However i find the rewards from the event/daily quests a little lacking.

It could be way improved than just an additional Deep Winter Writ, for players who experienced the same event last year.

Unpopular opinion: I want fewer events in 2020.

I burned out on events back at the end of 2018. There were so many of them, it was just disruptive. I found that they were becoming my "normal" play in the game. When there was no event running, it had been so long since I had done non-event stuff that I had forgotten where I was.

This year, I just didn't participate in all of the events or participated minimally. That seemed to help considerably.

This year, New Life was the perfect mix of updated and repeat. Familiar quests made participating in the event easy and unobtrusive. New stuff gave me something new to collect. I don't feel burned out going into 2020. I finished leveling a new character to 50, started on another, and picked up a few event related achievements that I had missed in previous years on a couple older characters.

It's still lots of fun even after 4 years. Mud balling is my favourite.

I didn't pace myself though. I got the Skinchanger motif for my 3 new toons, and the Skaal outfit pages I needed with about half the event still to go. That kind of took the edge off.

If the Server comes back up in time I might need to go mud balling again :)

I felt the writ drop rate was pretty decent

The rng ratio doesn't apply to all, what happen to you might not happen to others...

Decent was how the creatures needed to kill or item need to collect respawned faster than before.

I rarely did the event, I got event burnout at this point. All I did was exploit the 2x EXP and leveled a few of my alts.

This was my 3rd year participating and all I can say is that I am burnt out on events. Chasing these tickets has gotten old. I've somehow ended up with 5 re-skinned Indriiks in my mount collection that will never see any use and I didn't even want in the first place. Same with the Crystalfrost skin. Wasn't interested in the style pages or pet either so I'm not sure what the point is continuing with these things.

The double XP is always nice, although as I quickly approach CP 1000 with no word of an update to that system, it too seems completely pointless and not worth the time or effort to bother with. Much like the rest of the game has become this year.

This New Life Festival was... perfect!

I had 12 tickets saved from last event, a base Indrik and 1 Dawnwood Berry. So during the first days I worked on my very first Indrik - a beautiful Dawnwood one.

Next goal was a Skaal style. Some pages came from Deep Winter writs. Others bought with tickets. I cought cold and felt really bad, so all I could do is 1 New Life quest and 1 boss - and I was happy that I have this easy opportunity to get tickets and style.

I saved 12 tickets for next event.

No grind, awesome Skaal style and my beloved Dawnwood Indrik - a perfect New Life Festival! Thank you, ZOS!

Boring, repetitive and designed to aggravate. Too many layers of rng, you spent half the time doing the event staring at loading screens, you get locked in an emote for ten seconds but good luck guessing when the emote actually ends because the game doesn't actually show the emote. And tough luck is you hit E without being absolutely sure you have the door targeted because hey lets lock you in a non-displayed emote for another ten seconds.

Gonna skip this total mess of an event next year apart from maybe getting tickets, I've never been this bored with an event in any game ever.

I enjoy events in general but don't do all of them. For example I really dislike PvP so anything having to do with Cyrodiil or IC doesn't interest me. If people hadn't been camping out at quest turn in locations in Cyrodiil to farm questers it wouldn't have been such a turnoff. Trying to force players (who don't like all game aspects) to do PvP, group content, and even PvE isn't the way to make the game fun and interesting. I wish they would invent at least one or two new dailies for the new life festival. The same 9 day after day is extremely tedious. I'm someone Who actually likes the indriks and wants all of them. Because of skipping some events I haven't been able to get enough feathers for all four. But I do have all the berries so hopefully I can make up for it later. I donate my extra runeboxes to my guild, who gives then to newer players as prizes for flash games we play on our BAND chat. Overall I want them to keep doing events but would like to not see the exact same quests/tasks every year. They should also make a better effort to give us new and interesting prizes to go after so that even the same old tasks seem more worthwhile.

I liked the event. After several years, I share @SantieClaws feeling of comfortable nostalgia at this point. I had a new character stay pumped up on Breda's mug of xp juice and do a daily delve each day to simultaneously build xp, undaunted and get three daily tix. Then I had another character who had not done the quests before do one (sometimes two) of Breda's quests each day to end up with 5 tix per day.

I have a Dawnwood Indrik but my elf's horse is not in jeopardy so I am glad to see the Impresario selling things other than indrik stuff. Got just about all the outfit style pieces from her this event.

Overall, I like the flexibility this event provided in being able to get plenty of tix and use them for other than indrik stuff. :)

    That was ok.
    I like
    - exp buff. I lvled up last 2 necromanter, faster. Funny fact only with 24 public dungeon, event buff + exp scroll enough to reach lvl50 :)
    - new style pages
    - can collect older berries

    I would like
    1)
    runebox rebalancing
1.a) would be bound, and If you collected no more runeboxes. New players will collect during next event, drop rate is decent this is not so difficult to collect all runeboxes.
1.b) Extrame rare drop rate but sellable
1.c) Idk other more user friendly solutions
but now I hate copy-paste DESTROY to erase runeboxes

    2)
More new elements. Games. Like in Guild Wars 1, there were many mini games, my favourite rollerbeetle racing. You can play these mini games during holiday events for account bound title, need more than one year to reach lvl12 title: Real Ultimate Power Skillz

    3)
    event tickets rebalancing
I don't like the feeling, if you don't play you will be left out. Usually in Autumn I feel need to try other games. I finished witches festival after 3 years :) There were not push to play. I like that. I was left out from nothing.
Since ZOS introduced event tickets, and temporary rewards the things worse. That would be awesome, if event merchant sell all event items during every event. I won't have enough event tickets of course, but I can choose and the feeling is much better.

After many years doing the event on Console and having to do it to get the achievements on PC I will never do it again, It is just too boring and repetitive. The wasp nest was a good inclusion but I only seen it once.

I would welcome a change in taking out, the having to go back to Eastmarch all the time. Change Breda into a New Life Ghost, something like the prophet in our main quest where it pops up, maybe at the way-shrine to continue the activities or just even when you complete one it continues onto the next and change the loot table too.

The three extra tickets were welcome. I was able to get the onyx indrik, and the berries for the white one. The lack of new rewards from the boxes were annoying. I destroyed most of the rewards I got. Everyone already has then from previous years. Couldn't even give them away.

With the double xp, I got some leveling done. Did a few days of event dailies on a character so I can get the style pages. Tickets were easy and not time consuming to get, and finished getting the indriks. A bit of time put in each day, not too much and plenty of objectives achieved so it's pretty good.

I think fewer daily quests. Maybe 4 instead of nine. On work days I only have an hour or two to play in the morning and, with crafting and questing, I just don't have enough time to slog all over Tamriel 9 times a day.

I liked the New Life festival since the event tickets awarded were generous, and only involved one quest and one boss kill, so I could pretty much buy a style page per day without relying on RNG for deep winter writs. I think events are a good way for new players to catch up on collectibles, rewards, motifs, and also make use of the XP buff to level, but I would like for them not to involve a lot of farming, or happen too close to each other. Yes, participation is optional, but veteran players usually like to collect all the new things, and having to spend most of play time just to farm boxes etc., especially when events happen almost back-to-back, doesn't leave much time for normal game activities, and takes enjoyment out of playing.

The event struck a nice balance for me. I really enjoy the New Life quests but I don’t feel compelled to do them all every day, and the rewards aren’t great enough to make me feel like I’m missing out. One quest per day to get the tickets was perfect for not feeling too grindy. The writ drop rate was good enough to be satisfying on days when I did do all the quests.

I would like to see an additional quest or 2 next year. And I really, really want all the drops (ALL of them. Including rune boxes) to sell to merchants for a nominal amount. I was consistently annoyed by having to spend time destroying half the drops after opening the event boxes.

I'm in the "There's too many events" camp. They seem to be a very large part of the game and they are absolutely NOT the most fun part of it.

The New Life Festival is a particularly good example of that.

This event is very tired and boring after several years. The 9 quests are really just ingame drudgery.

So, apart from doing enough to get my daily tickets for the Skaal pages, I sat most of it out.

I've been doing New Life since it started - like someone above said (I think Santie), it has a certain nostalgia factor for me but I did it only long enough to get the Skaal style completed - which was about five days running all nine quests on four characters.

Good: I got the Skaal style completed.

Also good: The changes to the Betnikh event made it a breeze, I no longer dreaded getting that one.

Bad: The RNG inside RNG paired with the ticket cap is annoying. I was at cap going in to the event - so the first thing I did was buy the staff page. Then I did two charity writs and got - two staff pages. Every other day I was at cap so I'd roll the dice and buy a page (not interested in the Indrik) and then cross my fingers hoping the next writ I did gave me a different page. The writs were expensive to make as far as housing mats go - I burned through my entire heartwood stash. I'm glad I didn't care about the old writs for the skin or it would have been a major grind.

I'm glad they reduced the Betnikh requirements (less killing, no belching on players unless you really want to). It would be nice if you didn't have to dance and perform so many times, maybe reduce the random mudball requirements to five. Maybe add more cash options, like the War Orphan's Sojurn. And add an Imperial task, as has already been mentioned.

So tired of Skinchanger motifs and the same old recipes, how about something different? The free lights are nice, but how about adding a rarer chance at the whole furnishing plan? And why in the name of Sithis do they insist on making runeboxes and style pages unstackable and unbankable? Makes absolutely no sense. And don't even get me started on requiring hundreds and hundreds of heartwoods!

Overall, a fun event. I get that people claim to be suffering from event burnout, but I'd rather have too many than not enough. It may be hard to restrain yourself from partaking, but it's still a choice.
