Playstyle of StamDen vs MagPlar?

I'm debating between going Stamina Warden or Magicka Templar. I know meta changes often so I want to focus on the playstyle differences between the two.

Anyone experienced at both can please elaborate how to play each class? Typically the things you do, your role, active/passive defense, burst, etc?

I actually have a StamDen but to be honest, for pvp I rather go range. I play with 300ms ping so everything is even laggier for me. With StamDen being in melee so much, often times I get burst down. I'm thinking to switch to Bow/2H to stay ranged and go melee when necessary, plus using more survivability skills. But then I got to thinking why don't I just main a Templar instead.

I've never tried Templar before but on paper it seems range is the preferred option, their heals are nice too. I'm just not sure if the damage is sufficient enough (somehow I've always thought of Templar as mainly a healer, everything else secondary) and if the class relies on active defensive skills to be alive.

I think for ranged play stamden’s a little better. Stamden with a bow is one of the best ranged stamina classes imo.

I play my magplar purely melee. I think you’ll have a rough time as a ranged magplar, it might work but I’ve never tried it. What makes magplar good is crescent sweep, puncturing sweeps and toppling charge - all melee skills.

I know it's not a choice but stamplar is good with a bow, I've seen good Bowdens but I prefer my bow play with my plar..

If you're zerging both are easily playable ranged.
Stamden can fetcher, bird, snipe.
Magplar can flare, force pulse, radiant.

Both are easy.

Stamden is more of a hit and run type build best suited to using its good major expedition buff and delayed great burst combo potential with bugs/ dawny but magplar is better at a stand your ground playstyle with its circles and how its combo and jabs performs.
