Why is range so small?

I mean this would be awesome...if it wouldn't be a mere 200 meters to the farthest sight at best :( why does it have to be like this...I swear most of the awesome looking things are getting blurred by that damn fog...why cant it be increased since I assume removing it would be worse?...and no im not talking about injecting stuff with...what was its name...hook64? it was lame and not to mention the ultra low res was making me feel numb...but I just wonder why does it has to be like this...why cant the devs remove it or at least double it so we can enjoy proper sightings...?

Because it will become immediately obvious how small the zones actually are.

we already know...reason why I keep asking for 80% wayshrines removal...zones are 2 small already yet we have 39857838753875 wayshrines every 100 meters...

That does not fix the fact that the zones are small. And makes the game just more annoying.

would love to see the zones each the size of cyrodill...but I doubt such upscaling will happen...then that fog can stay the way it is cuz would make somewhat sense...but still...I never feel like walking to hubs and all that on ur mount tedious...is actually enjoyable and I know a lot of people disagree but how can u enjoy stuff if you skip it anyway...

I assume you already pulled all the view distances to maximum, first thing I do.
It probably weather effects, its no reason why you can not see stuff outside of zone as an LOD.
And no don't want fewer wayshrines, I want larger zones even if content is the same, this annoyed me back in ESO 4 Obivion there you could redraw from an hostile location into another one.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Here's a thread with some Fog/No Fog pictures for comparison to see if you like the effect: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/156070/eso-contextual-fog-concept/p1

Personally, meh. I'll keep the fog.

Uh. Me too. The "unfogged" is just too.... harsh. It's not picturesque, it doesn't even come close to "real". Mostly I love the way the game looks, as it does look "real" - in a totally TESy FCRPG way.

that cuz they used hook64 to remove it forcefully which shows the low res and unrendered textures...imagine reading my 1st post where I specified about this...also reason why I would love devs to take care this the proper way not us with 3rd party craps that in the end can make stuff worse :V

I read your first post. In which you didn't provide a "contrast" screenshot. So? You can provide a screenie without the fog, but "better" than the others?

Regardless, I don't mind the fog. Makes for some truly picturesque screenshots.

Okay? I'll admit I don't know the difference, so since that thread I linked doesn't mention hook64, I wouldn't know. If you know of any screenshots showing the game the way you want the fog changed, I'd be delighted to take a look.

It sounds like you want ZOS to go back in and fix the same issues - better distant textures - so we can remove or lessen the fog without the game looking terrible.

That's a laudable suggestion, but I suspect its highly unlikely given that ZOS seems content to leave base game zones, equipment, and furnishings at a much lower resolution than newer stuff.

Want to push the fog back further?
    I highly recommend installing Daybreak.

Yeah, it would look fine they added depth of field. DoF done right makes a big difference — the problem is, doing DoF right requires more resources than just slapping some fog over it & calling it a day.

Even with an old engine like Skyrim, a subtle depth of field can make a night & day difference.

I swear most of the awesome looking things are getting blurred by that damn fog...why cant it be increased

Increasing your range of vision (decreasing the fog effect) would affect performance, negatively, and people already crab about that enough as it is.
There's an option in settings to decrease your range of vision via the fog, and the tooltip for it mentions that increasing the fog effect improves performance.

wait what? I have everything maxed out and I never read anything about something like that or seen an option regarding it!?? also I am aware that would affect performance but then again...how about making more in-depth and heavy graphics options for EVERYONE cuz yes not everyone is playing ESO on his smart fridge...some people actually have very potent rigs...so why not allowing us to use them to their actual capacity?...
