So if I want to upgrade my purple to gold but I have 3 chromium platings what are my chances of this working so far it says 75% but wondering if anyones tried it and had success. I really dont wanna waste any more money on this its redic expensive. (I am only here for the divine gold achievement)

it's 75% chance. What other answer are You expecting. You can fail or not. It's rng.

I would suggest waiting until you've saved up one more plating. You may get lucky, but rng is rng and you'll be much worse off if you lose the 3 platings you have.

Don't know what server you play on, but on Xbox NA you'd be gambling ~195k for a chance at saving ~65k.

If you have the luck that I do, save up for the 4th plate. For me, 75% might as well be 0%.

Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

i have to go with this ^

in addition, i would suggest simply build up purple jewelry and break them down and then sell those rewards untill you earn enough to outright build your own gold set. in the process youll also get some gold matterials needed for the gold platings just from breaking down purple jewelry.
it might seem really tuff, but its worth the work, and you'll enjoy it far better than chancing destroying a purple set and 3 gold platings.

Are you participating in the types of content where you even need gold jewelry, @Jdray?

Unless you’re chasing Trials or Arena Leaderboards, or in an organized PvP raid, there’s really no need for gold jewelry to clear content.

The stat difference between purple and gold is minuscule.

It's lying. Never trust the machines; they're trying to take over. The chance is 100%. Do it. Dooooo it.

Like the other's have said I would wait until you have all of the materials. Given the rarity of Chromium it isn't worth the risk of losing what you have.

Pretty much this. OP can decide to not "waste" any more money on upgrading but may be left losing the everything in the process.

There is a truthism that the more important the task is the less favorable RNG will be. LOL.

Does it also destroy the item you try to improve? I believe the description says something like this when you don't have a 100% chance. I never took the chance to go with anything less than 100%, so I don't know, but that would really suck.

It does. Trying to improve with anything below 100% can make your item go "poof". Don't do it.

you can do just as good with purple as you can with Gold.
the amount of increase from purple to Gold is minimal.

The OP stated that they are doing it for the achievement so gold is necessary.

To the OP.........I wouldn't risk it. I would get that last plating and go with 100%.

Never worth the risk of upgrading anything without a 100% chance of success.

If it fails you lose the mats and the item.

A mate of mine lost one of the DLC monster helms upgrading below the 100% success chance, ended up costing him another 100K to get another one of the Golden vendor, then another 40 - 50K in mats to upgrade it later on once he maxed the crafting line.

You also want a chart attached presenting propability distribution ? I mean like seriously what answer can You expect when You basically ask "what is my chance to fail when I have 75% to succed ?".

nope insight, and a few opinions needed to sway my decision. Im gathering more folks risked it lost there gear in the process (didn't know that )then the latter. I honestly thought allot of more people risked it and succeeded, seeing the 75% odds where in their favor.
In the end this was helpful as I will just save up and wait to get the additional plating.

Buttt to answer your original (what was I expecting?) every answer you didn't give ..so like if you couldn't be bothered why respond?

I tried it once and it worked that means It will never work again for me knowing this game. And by tried I mean I I sneezed with my hands on the upgrade and accept keys

Don't risk it that will be 240,000 gone because when they say 75% it seems they mean 95% of the time it will fail
