This driver is completely awful and will affect your frames, cause you stutter and lag. Just go to ‘Uninstall programs’ from your control panel and remove Nvidia audio driver. This action will have no consequences on the audio of your system."

also uninstall it from device manager as well.

Those settings will do absolutely nothing to increase performance on a windows 10 machine with ESO.
Even on an optimal set of hardware you are looking at .01% of PCs gaining .01% of performance.
The absolute best thing the average user can do to "tweak" their PC is to NOT TOUCH IT.
Leave it alone. People considerably smarter than the average user have designed the operating system to be optimal for 99% of applications you will use.
Almost every guide on the internet related to tweaking is going to *** up someones PC.
Really I want you to think for a moment.. if there really was a "magic bullet" tweak that actually made a significant difference dont you think it would have been rolled into software by now?
Since the last major update, my FPS took a major hit. The problems in PvP (for me) flip-flopped from latency issues to FPS since that update. So, I will give the above settings a try and report back if it really helped. I am willing to give up some video quality for better performance.
Last night a good friend of mine RQ the game because of the load screens while in battle only to come back to the fight dead. Does anyone have tips for in battle load screens-- I can pass on to my friend to get him back in the game?
Alienoutlaw wrote: »you may find this little guide helpful
1st go into chrome (if you use it) and then into settings in the search bar type Background
set this to OFF
2nd (Nvidia users only)
open Nvidia control panel and click the following
3rd open this window and set the following settings
make sure to have "low latency" set to ULTRA
4th open you in game settings and setting them to the following
after you have done this log out FULLY and find your ESO user settings (usually in documents/elder scolls online/live
MAKE A COPY OF THIS FILE
then adjust the following ONE AT A TIME DO NOT COPY PASTE
after you have done all this the final step is to install
make a PvP profile un-checking ALL non-essential addons this will allow you to turn off addons and put them back on with a simple click of the mouse
you may find the look of your game has changed (not so crisp ect ect) but i have tested this and at a keep under attack with 30 blues my FPS did not drop below 99 even in peak times
i hope you all find this of use

Alienoutlaw wrote: »yes but you wont see as much improvement as you would with the performance setting, all the "in game" settings and the user settings file changes are independent of the graphics card settings
I did the chrome trick and changed it to balanced from quality, will see how that works . i wouldnt doubt that chrome was the reason for my issues. That thing either works great or hogs everything.

the chrome setting just stops any background cpu usage (helps with latency)
Alienoutlaw wrote: »the biggest changes will come from the in game settings, and then the user file adjustments
Connection got a bit better, and performance a little too, however, after changing it to balanced i noticed my gpu was not even turning on pretty much lol, so i changed it t othe recommended setting of 4 k dsr and somehow my performance got even better.
I dont understand anymore, lol.
Alienoutlaw wrote: »
did you change the in game settings also?
That was what i changed in game, i changed it from 2k to 4 k, and somehow it got better xD
Alienoutlaw wrote: »
lol i have no answer for that, glad you got this improved though

i dont use HDMI, i use DP..plus this affects only if you use the monitor speakers..if you don't then it shouldn't affect your sound
AmeenHania wrote: »yea and the threaded optimization should probably set to auto since most mmo's (i think) have trouble with using all your cores.
I am seeing an improvement with changing the two settings in my Nvidia control panel, and the user settings files. I have been in a few decent large scale battles in PvP, and with these changes, there is an estimated 20-30% increase in my FPS.
Today I will make the changes in the in-game video settings to see if it helps even more. I truly believe it is server-side on their end that has caused this drop in FPS... so I am keeping my original settings noted so that I can always set them back IF the Devs fix the issue.
