I'd love to see Spellcrafting if it is well-implemented, but I'm skeptical. The previously shown system is a little too much like enchantment crafting and looks like it would horribly clog up the skills menu. It could get messy if care isn't taken for a clean implementation.

Personally, I'm beginning to feel that it would be much cleaner and easier to introduce staves for Alteration (tanking/utility), Illusion (stealth/utility), and Conjuration (DPS/utility), with their own unique light/heavy attacks, skills, and passives. And they should restore Frost to a proper DPS weapon like it should be (even if it keeps a defensive focus, the heavy attack taunting has got to go!). That would be 15 new skills and 3 new Ultimates, more than enough to fill gaps in every class toolkit across the board. This could be rolled out across 1-3 DLC's, much less disruptive than dropping dozens of new custom spells at once.

Then overhaul the skill morph system to make it much more flexible. That's all the spell "crafting" we need, really.

I have suggested before that at this point Spell Crafting, while it'd help the game cause you could do stamina morphs of certain spells maybe, should just get trashed and spread out any spells into new classes and weapon lines. I would love more Elder Scrolls spells in the game.

1h and rune would be great, magic players need more weapon lines.

My gut is telling me they will milk the nostalgia and add in "the voice" skill line.
    Perhaps a new bard class.

    i personally would love

1h+spell - tied to winterhold (nords are kinda very martial)
dawnguard skill line (lots of cross bow action)
full vampire skill line (with vampire lord transformation as ultimate)

Unarmed (we have monks in Elsewyr/Dragonhold)
Shouts (since we're moving towards Skyrim)
Light Attack damage that's based off of the highest resource pool, not based on weapon type (not a new skill line, but it would help with rotations using the new skill line ;) )

I'd love to have some sort of conjuration skill line added that lets people summon flame/frost atronachs. It would be very lore-friendly, although they might not do it just because of "balance."

@JackDaniell I feel like it's quite laughable you didn't even mention a Dawnguard/hunter group and Updated vampire/vampire lord skill line being added, yet you think shouts have a chance to get in.

Was really looking forward to watching the vid and hearing your opinions about such, but I was greatly disappointed tbh.

As far as 1H+Rune goes, I'm kind of hoping for something like this as a Templar main. Old swords shouldn't be usable, though. And there's really no need for a "rune" at all, which would require crafting system changes. I'd like to see a simple implementation as a new Spellsword weapon, which would take up both hands and count as 2 set pieces, equipping a one-handed sword model in the main hand and a glowy spell animation in the off-hand.

It would be really cool if the Spellsword functioned differently for each class, with unique class-specific off-hand animations. The skills could modify slightly for each class (like destruction staff skills change for each elemental staff). They could essentially make a hybrid weapon+class skill line where you channel your innate class magic through a Spellsword. This would be an amazing mechanic to play with, especially if they take the opportunity to fill some gap in everyone's toolkits.

There are a million other obvious creative skill lines they could do, but whatever it ends up being I just really hope that it benefits current characters. I don't want to see another class for a while.

Not only I think there will be Bard's college/guild but I hope there will be also a guild for the Dragon Priests, most likely as the necro puts a resembled mask on in the video. I am pretty confident and 100% sure we will have something to do with Dragon Priests.

even easier than that, simply equip 1 weapon and if you have nothing in your off hand it counts as 2 set pieces and the values of the weapon change or the 1h+spell line has a passive that compensates for the lower values

    Spellcrafting. Please.
It would just be too perfect for the College of Winterhold to miss this opportunity. And we've been waiting for over 4 years now.

    - Vampire - We already have vampire skill line, so what they will add new one on top of existing one ? If something, they will overhaul the existing one. Maybe a different kind of vampire at best...
    - 1H & Spell / rune - most likely, as all assets are already in the game.
    - Polearms - Spears could be awesome addition. We have not seen them in TES games since TES III Morrowind. Also, they could make them hybrid weapon line by adding Spear and Combat staff (mystic - monk style weapon, something like Quarterstaff).
    - Spell crafting - may also appear, but I have 2 problems with it: Game balance & class identity - imagine cloaking sorcs or streaking wardens... :# 2nd thing is inventory management - If it will require too many crafting items.
    - Bard skill line - kinda "meh" but still possible.
    - Other possibility (since this is Skyrim and Solstheim is rumoured to be next year story DLC) we may see different "were-crature" - like werebear.

Anyway, after this year in ESO, I am kinda depressed. So many things got wrecked by nerfs, that I no longer feel encouraged to even try to improve my build. Too many times I have experienced sledge hammer nerfs. Class, race, WW, even my non-meta play-style took some shrapnel - nerfs... :disappointed:

I think spell crafting will be one of those things that a lot of people want, until they actually get it. It’ll be either in a state where it will be a nightmare to balance or it’ll end up pretty much identical to poisons and it’ll be something more akin to scroll crafting.

Whatever new system they add it will most likely be a disaster. It will be good for the first week om PTS until the "PvP balance team" (aka people dueling) says its too strong, and it will end up being trash when it goes live.
  • dorogov.alexeyeb17_ESO
Id like to see new reworked necromancer class without bugged, overnerfed skills and stupid corpse based system. Also will be nice idea to make little class based passives for different neutral skills. For example, if you play NB class - your skills in different noclass skillines will have some class bonuses or class binded morths. And we dont have spears, unarmed and crossbow line. And classes like monk and shaman. Well, if be serious : engineery skilline or dwemer technology line with mechanical traps, pets and trickery))) p.s: sorry for bad english

All I want is Spellcrafting. The College of Winterhold basically gives us everything needed to make it happen.

Spellcrafting hate in this forum is unreal. With the latest updates to the game and baselining everything they already made the groundwork for Spellcrafting to be actually good and balanced.

I don't get how people can be for 1h+spell but against spellcrafting.

What exactly do you expect to equip into your other hand alongside a 1h weapon if not a spell? A spell that you would have to ... craft?

A 1h + rune weapon skill line will have an Ultimate and five active abilities - that is what you have equipped in your other hand.

Again, what will you have equipped in your other hand? So it's basically a "two handed" (left hand weapon, right hand rune) skill line with 5 skills + 1 ultimate or what? How boring would that be honestly.
