Yeah i was wondering how in the hell you only got 150. I also forgot to mention i buy another 5 to make it 50. Just fixed it. The gems start adding up like crazy once you own most of the collectibles from the crates. You can get well over 80 gems a crate.

Also, generally months like this one, where there are added value Legendaries (200 crowns) make the best "stock up on gems" opportunity. You just wanna buy way too many, load up on tons of gems, then wait for next crate season so you can buy whatever the heck you want. Combine it with a crown sale and it's a big win.

I got about 400 from the daily reward crates (not Twitch drops), and I even missed a few days. I'm guessing 15-20 maybe? I can't remember how many free crates I got (ZOS was pretty generous with them last year). Decon literally everything that you can.

It’s deliberately orchestrated to confuse and bewilder so there is no direct correlation between gems and actual, real money.

Like casino chips, gems are deliberately designed so players don’t make the connection with real life. This is calculated to encourage players to spend more than they otherwise would or fail to realise the extortionate costs of very basic items.

The exchange rate on PC/EU is like 400:1, for whatever crazy reason. PC/NA is 200:1.

Yes, i'm on PC EU, since eternity. If you find me 45 crates for 3 millions i promise i will give another 500k to you lmao. Crown/gold ratio is 400:1 and it becomes 425:1 whenever new crates arrive.

I'm not joking, if you have sellers who sell 45 crates for 3 mil i have a dozen friends who'll line up to get some

Exchange rate is 400:1 on WCE as well. You won't find any place cheaper on PC/EU, unless you're willing to buy from zone chat sellers.

I really have no idea why they're so expensive in EU. I'm guessing less sellers than on NA. I know it's anecdotal evidence, but in a lot of online games I play, my EU friends avoid spending money on microtransactions (can't blame them).

Ive spent insane amounts of money in crownstore. Im fed up with the technical issues of this game and refuse to spend more cash on anything BUT skyshards. Calculating how much skyshards 400 Gems is makes me see the bigger picture and get the right perspective. Feels good. Thats the reason why i asked to begin with. Thanks all

There was an EU server? Really? Well that explains it. I only used to be on the NA one, where Gina also was. I have a maxed character on NA and i farm gold there to sell it off to a trader who then has no problem selling crowns to me on EU. I thought everyone was doing it that way since TCE started lmao. I haven't been on their discord for quite a while now though.

If it's truly 6.5 milion on EU over zone chat then my goodness...

That is actually expensive as hell My apologies for giving people hopes. I never knew EU was that high up on the exchange scale. Why in the hell is the more populated and heavy loaded server twice as expensive? That's honestly ridiculous.

How many items you get that are consumables you can trade back, and how many items are duplicate of items you currently own have a lot to do with how many crates you need for 400 gems. If you link your ESO account to your Twitch account, you can get free crates from sponsored ESO streams. They exclusively contain junk that can be converted into gems. You can pretty easily get to 400 gems that way.

If duplicates were actually a direct conversion, it would be a lot less predatory than it is. Which is, of course, why they only give you a measly portion of the refund when you draw a duplicate.

Simple answer: too many if you thinking about buying crates. You get only a few gems, might be 2 to 6, per crate.

400/6 = +- 67 crates; 400/4 = 100 crates...


PS - If you have time to catch twitch drops, there answer is 0 crates that you will need to be buy.
