I Get Stuck When I Sit Down

No matter where I sit ... my character gets stuck and I have to ask for help to get un-stuck. So I try to make sure that I NEVER sit down but every now and then I will be picking up loot and accidentally sit. Does this happen to anyone else?

Pick someone on your friends list or guild roster, travel to them, the travel animation will make you stand, roll dodge to cancel travel animation and continue on your way.

A "hotspot" for me getting stuck is the Bench behind/next to the Skill shrines in Mournhold.
Usually, I just wiggle my char around, travel to players or press the button/s that take me to my inventory or CP menu.

Sometimes the "quick" ones work and sometimes it takes the Port. but its nothing big. As some have posted this is also a problem in Real life

If you do /idle your character will stand up and be unstuck

It happens in that Wrothgar inn with the daily questgivers

The same thing happens to me, OP. The only sure way to get unstuck is to use an emote or memento, or sometimes cast a power. I hate it, since it always happens when I'm trying to click on something else.

The only thing in ESO you can always count on is the bugs.

Do you mean sit like the emote or sit in a chair if its nearby?

This might sound weird but try weapon swapping, pressing any wasd keys a few times
or dodge roll to see if it unseats you its odd but dodge roll seems to help at the weirdest times like if an activity is greyed out like harvest or open a door (outside of combat) one these 3 things seems to fix it occasionally.

Ah, yes... the never-ending battle with sticky seats. My friends somehow avoid this happening to them, but me? I have pulled off some impressive accidental long-range sitting that gets me quite stuck every time it happens.

I can usually free myself using the various methods mentioned in this thread, with entering the inventory screen being my usual fix. At least it gives my friends a good laugh when they witness my amazing sitting power!

It happens to me at the daily delve quest giver in Murkmire. If I try to interact before his character is rendered, I interact with the chair he's in instead. I just start a port to the wayshrine and then take a step before it goes through.

Sitting in a chair or bench or box. Any object that prompts you to sit when highlighted.

I'll give some of your ideas a try. I thought I had tried everything yet I end up super-glued to the chair. I have to open my menu to the "help." Someone out there in ESO land sends me to the nearest Wayshrine.

It's a Bethesda known bug and "It just works".

Just do an emote. Type /idle or whatever emote you want to do. Fixes it.

Activating a momento does the trick as well. Happened to me under that bridge under Windhelm for the New Life quests

Try to travel somewhere (house, shrine, friend or guild mate), once the travel animation starts cancel it, by then your char will be free from the chair.

I haven't had this happen to me in a long time. The first time it happened was in a delve. I ported home to escape. Fortunately it had happened close to the entrance, so I didn't have to fight my way through the delve to get back to where I'd been. Lately I've sat down many times while waiting for a boss to spawn or for my bounty to go away, but I haven't gotten stuck.
