Can't break free in pvp

Hey there,

Is it normal that i can't break free when i get stunned by accelerating drain or the other NB skill (forgot the name) or toppling charge ? I get stunned and can't break free for several seconds although i have close to max stam, usually it starts as 1 v 1 but then i quickly get gangraped by others while "stuck"
I took a look at some pvp'ers on yt and they don't seem to have this issue, they can break free as soon as the stun settles in
This must be the cause of 70% of my deaths in BG so what is this mechanic that i don't about ?

I've had this happen quite a bit and it's one of the reasons I stopped bothering with PVP. No matter how quickly I hit break free, it just never seems to register in time.

There’s a slight delay when you get hit with one of those. Can’t break free until the final CC animation starts.

It's all about lag and de-sync during hard cc. What you see on screen is actually delayed like 1 second... I may only recommend running heavy armor and unstoppable brute with gap closer and speed jewelry for mobility.. yeah, you lose a lot of damage but still can reach 5k if built properly. So far I find myself times more tanky with unstoppable brute and 25k resists then with 35k and without cc-immunity on demand.

I noticed that as well, recently it got really bad even in BGs you can't break free properly especially if a NB uses Soul tether. You just stay stunned till the timer went down no matter what you do.

It's definitely more than a one second delay, as soon as i get cc'ed i spam break free and just nothing happens, it really is crazy, i just stand there on my knees or down on my back and i can't do anything while a templar is spamming jabs on me
Since i'm a bit tanky, it actually takes time (and often several ppl) to kill me, and all i can do is watch so really really frustrating

Nah it is not your fault.

i had this problem and I made middle mouse button to break free, works better now. For some reason sometimes it didnt register RMB+LMB.

yeah i was thinking of doing that, although i'm already using the middle mouse button for a skill, gotta have to find something else on the keyboard, i'll probably use TAB

Thogard is lying, sometimes the game just doesnt let you breakfree... so its really just RNG:)

I reprogrammed Break Free to my mouse last year and it got better, but recently because of lag It often never works in real time. I also get a lot of grayed out bars, not always from stuns. Even BGs are laggy for me now.

Have you checked to make sure you have a good internet connection? Do you play on wifi? 100% the problem, def not servers xD

Might I also add, are you playing on a HDMI 2.0 compatible cable?

Yeah it's one of the reasons I don't play anymore. I play very high risk high reward. If I get stunned and can't break free because of servers I'm dead. And I refuse to potato my builds to thier servers

To be competitive you must not use LMB and RMB as it doesn't always register correctly. I use a side mouse button which made a huge difference. For the last two patches there is for sure a delay or dsync as people mentioned. I usually play light armor (mag) or medium armor stam and i'm for sure taking more punishment than the past. Hopefully next years changes help, but for now i'm generally taking a short break and giving them time to fix the game. If you play a squishier build that requires mobility, then that 1 sec delay or pot not going off is the hardest CC in the game.

Less player alive, moving and casting means less inputs to the server, meaning better performance in that instance. This is a feature.

Pot not going off is also something that happens pretty often especially in dire situations

If you get stunned mid-roll by accelerating drain you will not be able to break free. It's definitely bugged, and its no surprise that more and more players are using it these days. The best part is that there is no counter to it besides a pot or cc immunity skill that can't be kept up 100%.

Spread the word on the skill by the way, maybe ZOS might take the complaints about it seriously then when every streamer gets cc bugged by the skill

What class you running @Reyleigh ? As Templar topple charge is unbreakable until animation ends, so if you're lagging on a squishy class your gonna be stomped during that animation and especially with PvP being in its worst possible state right now you're gonna wish you bought the new Pokémon instead.

Yep, Accelerating Drain seems to be harder to break free from, possibly because it's a channel. I had trouble breaking free from that, even with full stamina and break free button mapped. In the second it takes to break free the other 3 people in the other team land hard hitters like Onslaught, DBoS etc. so it's usually one second too late.
